Jenn,

Jeepers. I¹m so surprised that Dr. G says ³No.² to DariFree. I looked at

the ingredients (see below), and I just can¹t think what he would have a

problem with... unless he thinks that the lactic acid might be from dairy

(it¹s not). I would politely re-ask on this topic (and send the

ingredients). When we were having trouble finding something our son could

drink this was the ONLY thing we could find that Dr. G was OK with... but I

think he said ³No.² at first and then changed his mind. He had recommended

something else (Mocha Mix) but it¹s only available on the west coast (it¹s

refrigerated).

Here¹s the e-mail I sent to the office asking about Dari-Free...

Is Vance's Dari-Free alright? It has a potato base... our son¹s food screen

looked really good as far as potatoes were concerned.

We are out of luck regarding Mocha Mix (manufacturer doesn't ship to IN),

and as far as Vitamite, they make nothing that doesn't contain milk (I even

spoke to their Research and Development Department).

Here are the Dari-Free ingredients:

Maltodextrin (from potatoes), Natural Flavors (no MSG), Crystalline

Fructose, Calcium Carbonate, colored with Titanium Dioxide (an inert

mineral), Carrageenan, Dicalcium Phosphate, Salt, Tricalcium Phosphate,

Potassium Citrate, Lactic Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Alpha Tocopheryl

Acetate (Vitamin E), Vitamin A Palmitate, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Calcium

Pantothenate, Vitamin D3, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Riboflavin

(Vitamin B2), Vitamin K1, Thiamin mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Cyanocobalamin

(Vitamin B12), Biotin.

It also has the following:

(%s of daily value)

Vitamin A 10%

Vitamin C 10%

Calcium 30%

Iron 4%

Vitamin D 15%

Vitamin E 10%

Vitamin K 10%

Thiamin 10%

Riboflavin 10%

Niacin 10%

Vitamin B6 10%

Vitamin B12 40%

Biotin 2%

Pantothenic Acid 10%

Please let us know if it's OK.
