Since December of 2011, I've been setting forth " my hypotheses "

regarding etiologies of autism. I have not concentrated on the small

percentage of autisms which are entirely genetic. Instead, I have

focused upon environmental factors and their interaction with various

polymorphisms, some of which have been studied in regard to autism, some

of which seem not to have been studied. As writing the essay was

meandering towards completion, several additional topics came to mind.

Each is presented as a postscript to the original essay and its addenda.

Postscript-2 is posted in the group's files as a pdf, focuses upon

vitamin D and pollutants, and is entitled " Binstock vD & pollutants

4-25-12.pdf " .

Vitamin D papers present challenges of rhetoric and terminology. I have

tried to keep clear my use of vitamin D terminology; yet even as I share

postscript-2, I have anxiety regarding vitamin D terminology and welcome

corrections if necessary. As of April 25, the list of references for the

paper, addenda, and postscripts is very large and is not attached

herewith. However, each citation within the postscript's text begins

with the author and his or her initials, which will have to suffice

until I share the entire manuscript and and its gargantuan batch of

citations.

The recent news release from Dr. Landrigan was like a breath of fresh

air. So many pollutants affect neurodevelopment. The so-called " mystery "

of autism isn't quite as mysterious as we're led to believe.

Importantly, the time has come for autism researchers to begin

investigating functions and polymorphisms of i) the /aryl hydrocarbon

receptor/, and ii) various cytochrome p450 (CYP) genes and enzymes.
