Guest guest
Recent studies are showing our children have mitochondrial energy damage, interfering with brain energy metabolism. There are many nutrients that can help this; my favorites are DHA, the carnitines, Lipoic Acid, and CoEnzyme Q10. I myself would add these to your list (and I never use nystatin myself, as our yeast have outsmarted that a long time ago!) Dr. JM ________________________________ To: csb-autism-rx Sent: Thu, September 15, 2011 2:16:02 PM Subject: Ordering Supplements From Klaire/Prothera  After reading Dr. McCandless' post about nutrients, I am considering switching from our current nutrient regime to her recommendations. We have been using Syndion, but it is SO expensive and he has to take SO much of it, I'm trying to find an alternative. I'd like to run it by you guys to see if this seems appropriate for a 10 year old high functioning ASD boy who weighs 120 lbs. He does not have a problem with diarrhea or bad constipation. He has a BM almost every day. He's somewhat of a picky eater, but he eats OK. In addition to the probiotics (Candex, Culturelle, and Rx Diflucan, Nisoral or Nystatin), Vit. D3, and Coromega fish oil he currently takes, I was considering adding: Active B Trio (Vit. B6, Folate, B-12 methylcobalamin) Magnesium Glycinate N-Acetyl-L-Cystene He has also been taking Phosphatidyl Choline and L-Glutamine, but I'm thinking we can discontinue those if we do the above. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
