Hi All,

I wanted to give you a brief update on the status of AB 2109. Unfortunately, it

did not get the dual referral to both the Senate Health and Education Committees

that we hoped it would get this past Wed. It was only referred to the Senate

Health Committee, despite many phone calls and letters (via email and fax)

trying to explain to the Rules and Education Committees why it needed to be

heard by both committees. Below is an email from Dawn Winkler with the

tentative date the bill might be heard before the Senate Health Committee.

There will need to be a HUGE turnout at that hearing to make the impact that is

needed if we want to stop this bill before it continues to proceed forward. As

a reminder, if this bill becomes law, I believe it will only be a matter of time

before another bill is introduced that will seek to eliminate the philosophical

exemption altogether in CA (as was the original intent of this bill before it

was modified), leaving us with only the medical exemption to vaccines since we

don't have a separate religious exemption. Medical exemptions are not easy to

get, they are usually given after a child has suffered vaccine injury (to which

many doctors are not willing to admit), and they will become increasingly harder

to get as the powers that be seek to eliminate all exemptions (talk to someone

who lives in WV, where they only have medical exemptions, about how very

difficult it is to get a doctor to write a medical exemption).

If you do not live in CA, I have left you on this email list today for a couple

of reasons. First, to keep you apprised of what is going on in CA, because it

is very likely that it is going on in your state, too, or will be soon (or if

you live in WA, a bill like this has already become law). Second, there are 3

links at the bottom of the email below which I wanted you to have. For those

who have already seen the cartoon video with Dr. Pan and a mother (1st link

below), this is a newer version, so have a watch.

There is a tentative hearing date in the Senate Health Committee for AB2109 of

June 27th. Hearings are always at 1:30 pm in this committee. This is not set in

stone and it not even visible anywhere. I'm just giving those of you who are

considering traveling a long distance the most notice possible so you can plan.

But this could change. I will send out another alert when there is a more

concrete date set.

regarding how doctors are rewarded for keeping vax rates high. Just passing them
