I make my kefir with goat milk. One day, I grabbed the carton, poured it into the jar over the grains, and discovered I had just poured half n half over my kefir grains. I went ahead and made the kefir. It turned out thick like yogurt and had a delicious creamy taste. I don't normally consume cow milk products so haven't made kefir this way again. All the kefir I've made with the same grains and goat milk since then, has not been thick like that. Apparently fat content has something to do with the thickness of kefir. It was really the best kefir I ever tasted. If you eat cow dairy products, you might want to try it for fun.

Strange, mine are growing so rapidly lately that i have had to eat some to keep them down to a size I can use.Im using either whole or 2% organic with no growth hormones milk,but that is generally what Ive used all along and havent had this much growth until this past month.January in Florida, I wonder, its a warm winter down here, warmer than usual during the day ,But Im constantly getting new grain clumps growing.like every couple of days
