Dutiful reporters working in major media often describe autism as a

" mystery " . That myth seems a deliberately imposed reflection of the

strategy known as manufacturing doubt. In contrast, Florence '

new book describes pollutants found in breast milk (1). NPR recently

presented a synopsis (9) of the book. The human placenta is another

mechanism for delivering pollutants to the embryo and fetus (eg, 10-11).

Ought owners of toxic-molecule patents be held liable for trespass when

their molecules invade sacred space? At least seven books have focused

upon distortions of science for the purpose of manufacturing doubt

(2-8). The myth of autism as a " mystery " needs be laid to rest.
