Guest guest
THIS IS PROBABLY WHY HE HAS SEIZURES! I have a friend from OHSU works with Gene Stubbs who SWARES that this is connected, I have seen it firsthand. Please contact her, I will forward this to her, she would be interested. ANTI viral time, anything that is safe however. Kathy [ ] herpes >Hi Everyone, > > Just wondering, my sons HHV6 level just came back, reference range 0-10, >his was 40. What is the significance? Anyway could someone explain the significance and what I should do? >> It means he is having trouble keeping viruses under control and stuff like inositol and echinacea that boost NK cell activity will likely help. Guest guest
Crystal, Human herpies 6 virus causes " mono " like illness in teens and adults but " Fifth " disease in young children. Fifth disease lasts years and the child has a recurrant fever, colds, ear infections etcetra. It is believed that it could be responsible for a " slow " viral disease causing autistic symptoms. I heard that Dr Goldberg gives kids with autism and elevated HHV6 titers a 3 week trial of acylovar(ZOVIRAX)to see if they get better. He has an extensive web site and is part of a research foundation The addresses are : http://www.nids.net/ and http://www.neuroimmunedr.com/ Zovirax is a pretty safe drug and it may be worth a trial since your child has HHV6 titers. You can't say its past or current disease as the titers measure IGG not IGM. Also you could recheck the HHV6 titer in a month or so to see if there is a greater than 20% fluctuation(if greater than a current problem if the level is essentially the same it means past exposure) But Goldberg has some good stuff and his articles are well thought out. A must read. Best wishes, Beverly > Hi Everyone, > > Just wondering, my sons HHV6 level just came back, reference range 0-10, > his was 40. What is the significance? Guest guest
Kathy, My kid has sub-clinical seizures and elevated HSV 6 titers (IgM of 160) (Also a non-responder to Hep B, VZV, and mumps). I'm very interested in what you wrote below. Can you forward this or give me your friend's e-mail address? Thanks, Chris (I've been away on vacation...catching up...) Guest guest
, There is a Dr. Goldberg in California who is big on anti virals for HV6. He has a web site: www.neuroimmunedr.com. He puts them on a trial to see if it helps. We did acylovar for 3 months for elevated HHV6. I do not know if it helped. It didn't harm them. There is viral research in Japan which supports the short term (a month in one animal study) use of antivirals to suppress disease so the body can build up a good immune response and fight off disease from the virus. It seemed to work on animal models, but I have not seen human expairments( we are unlikely to see humans intentionally infected with a virus in an effort to see if antivirals supress disease and improve immune response, at least I'd be surprised).
