Guest guest
Dr. G is okay with melatonin as long as it is not used daily. To dose, start with 1/4 pill (or 2 droppers of you are using liquid) and work your way up daily until you find the dose that will put your child to sleep within 20 minutes. My son is 4 and requires 3 mg. We started at 1/2 a dropper when he was 2. As they get older they need a little more but you should never have to go any higher than 3 mg. They also will develop a tolerance to it if you use it daily. If that happens, just stop melatonin for a week two and resume. But Dr. G does not approve of daily use. For what it's worth, my son's sleep issues get really bad when he has yeast. Cheryl On Jan 5, 2008, at 2:02 PM, Barb Katsaros wrote: > Dr. G does not rec. melatonin, does he? Guest guest
Okay, my son is on an anti-fungal..and I hate to sound ignorant, but how do you know when the yeast has increased? I mean, is there a blood test? His first test was done last October (stool sample) and showed yeast. He has been an anti-fungal since March of last year. > > > > > Oops, I guess I am looking for more specific > > > information-since I've > > > gotten some suggestions on melatonin.
