Guest guest
I just went to no mail as my puter is dying and needs fixing, so if you ask question to the list I won't see them. I used plain rice when my dd was little. You can use brown if you like too. Just take the dry rice and toss it in your blender or food proccesor and process til it's a powder. :-) You can the same the dry oatmeal so it's smoother. I didn't try other grains, but don't see why it wouldn't work for those as well. If you have a coffee bean grinder, that would work too. Once you have the powder made, put that and water ( have to experiment with the amount) in a small glass dish and microwave. Or boil the water and just pour it directly on the powder. Both have to be allowed to set covered to cook a bit. Doesn't take long and you need LOTS more water than you would think. Store the powder in the freezer. ;-) or..... cook up all the cereal at once and freeze it in ice cube trays and reheat. -----Original Message-----From: Elliott [mailto:eliz3378@...] Sent: Thursday, October 07, 2004 9:47 PMgreentaramama ; herbal_Remedies ; health Subject: baby cereal hey all, i am writing because a friend of mine has a five mos old little boy who cannot have dairy or soy. she wants to start him on cereal but the rice cereal has milk & soy by-products in it. is there anything she can use instead?? Guest guest
Have her get a baby food grinder. Sprout some oats or rice, cook it and grind it smooth. Add some rice or barley milk to thin the gruel. Grain milks are highly nutritious and have no dairy components.
