Guest guest
<>The Autoimmune Epidemic Dear Readers, This week, we are honored to have an interview with Donna Nakazawa, the author of The Autoimmune Epidemic. As is the case with CFS and Fibromyalgia (and for many of the same reasons), our immune systems are getting overwhelmed and attacking our own bodies (autoimmune disease). Lupus, multiple sclerosis, hypothyroidism, childhood diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis are just a few of the nearly a hundred known autoimmune diseases. Nakazawa cites national statistics which show that one in 12 people--and one in 9 women--has an autoimmune disease. That's nearly 24 million Americans. Yet even though autoimmune diseases afflict more than double the number of people who have cancer, and a woman is 8 times more likely to have an autoimmune disease than breast cancer, these issues are given low priority by those who fund medical research. In her interview, Donna Nakazawa discusses the research behind and causes of autoimmune disease and how to protect yourself from getting them. I invite you to read her book and this interview to learn more about this important topic. Today's research briefs look at the role of childhood toxin exposure in developing CFS, how antacid use contributes to food poisoning, and the role of vitamin D and fish oil in preventing childhood diabetes--an all too common autoimmune illness. Can Toxic Chemicals Trigger CFS? This study suggests that chemical exposures, even in childhood, could predispose people to developing CFS & ME. This new study shows they also increase the risk of food poisoning. Although it's OK to use acid blockers (e.g., prilosec, zantac, etc) intermittently, a better approach is to use our natural program to heal your indigestion <http://www.endfatigue-dev.com/health_articles_f-n/Indegestion-eliminating_chron\ ix_acid_reflux.html> so you can come off the antacids comfortably--while restoring healthy digestion. Guest guest
A book like this is long overdue, perhaps it will promote add'l research for our kids STILL suffering from Autism. ( You know... the ones who go only so far with the protocol. ) Sincerely, Michele PS ~ I, myself are working on a book to someday have published. There will be many untold stories of what a lot of us went through during the late 80's and 90's.... some not even finding . " Ms. Michele " In a message dated 5/4/2008 8:53:39 A.M.
