Guest guest
We saw Dr. Goldberg on last Friday for the first time and started our daughter on Valtrex about 4 days ago. Her teacher said that she has had even less attention for tasks, is hyperactive (darting around the room) and seems somewhat lethargic. Has anyone seen anything seen anything similar during the die off period? Dr. Goldberg said it often is the worst the second week. I am wondering what others' experiences have been?? Guest guest
Sometimes it starts almost immediately, sometimes you may notice after a week, maybe at the two week mark have a couple of rotten days - if you're going to see it. If you don't start out w/die-off (we never really had any significant die-off that we could pin down), then by two weeks, I wouldn't suspect you to. I would occasionally try to blame a bad day on die-off but really, I couldn't. We've always been very lucky in that area thank goodness. Guest guest
Hi Robyn, Looking back at my notes, it appears that started to have some die-off about five days after starting Valtrex, and it lasted about 2 weeks...mostly cranky, tired behavior. Guest guest
Notes? You're so good, Donna. I need to be better about stuff like that. I have a journal for each kid, but it's hard to remember to actually write in them. I do use my calendar to make notes though. Thanks for the info. That's what I remember from Elijah's experience. Guest guest
That's true. I do have those. By the way, I wanted to let you know (and anyone else who's interested) that Trader Joe's just started carrying a goat cheddar cheese. We bought some but haven't tried it yet. All the best, Robyn From: thefamily007 <donnaaron@...> Subject: Re: Die Off Date: Saturday, November 8, 2008, 1:26 PM Oh, well...I don't think you should be too hard on yourself, Robyn... for one thing, I don't have THREE kids on the protocol like you do -- and to be honest, I'm not nearly as diligent in my note-keeping now as I was at the beginning. Now all I have go by are my bi-weekly updates to Dr. G. > > > > > > > > > About how long after starting antivirals should you > > expect die off > > syptoms, if you get any at all? > > > > > > TIA, > > > > > > robyn > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
