Guest guest
Okay, I just reread your post and realized that you have been on antivirals for 2 months. Dr. G should be Rxing an antifungal for you soon as antivirals really kick up yeast and that's what it sounds like is happening to your daughter. Die off generally doesn't happen for 2 months (does in rare cases but usually done within 3 weeks). Remind him about the antifungal if he doesn't add it in at your next appointment. Guest guest
Sorry, my post may have been confusing. We have actually only been on antivirals for 2 weeks. Good to know for the future though. Guest guest
I have experienced the same , however not with Valtrex. My son is on Nystatin , we have been going through the same thing for about 3 weeks now. We had an office visit with our specialist on Wed. , he added Folinac Acid to our reign of supplements and meds. It helps the methylation process. He also suggested using charcoal pills (i mix them with Ben's juice) at night to help with the detox process we are going through. We have tried that for a few days now and I have seen a great improvement in Benjermins sleeping patterns. Hope this info helps. Let me know if I can help in anyway. Does this sound like die off. If so, how long could it last?? I have heard die off usually lasts the first three weeks. Has anyone experienced a period of longer than this with Valtrex? Guest guest
Thank you!! We are now through that (yeah!!) and awaiting die off on Nizoral. She just seems tired and awful poops. I don't know if that is related. BTW what have others seen at the beginning of the SSRI. Dr. Goldberg wants to start it right before we leave to go out east for a month. She will have been on the Nizoral for only two weeks. Are we in for it?? Stone wrote: > I have experienced the same , however not with Valtrex. Guest guest
Sounds like die off symptoms to me. Regarding the SSRIs, Dr. G starts with tiny dosages. My son didn't react well to Zoloft, but he's greatly improved on Paxil. You may want to start the SSRI so you can better observe reactions. We started Noah during the school year and I would give him the meds about 45 minutes before the bell rang. I would have to rely on his aide to observe his behaviors and inform me. With my older son, we started Paxil right at the onset of summer break and I've been able to observe his behavior firsthand. Good luck on your trip. All the best, Robyn Caroline <carrieps@...> wrote: Thank you!! We are now through that (yeah!!) and awaiting die off on Nizoral. She just seems tired and awful poops. I don't know if that is related. Guest guest
Thanks. It is so helpful to get to talk to people who have been through this process. I think that is a good idea to do the SSRI while she is on summer break. Robyn & Greg Coggins wrote: > Sounds like die off symptoms to me. Regarding the SSRIs, Dr. G starts > with tiny dosages. Guest guest
For us, the ssri caused excessive urination when we first started. It didn't stop until we had gone through several increases - basically not until we got close to our target dose. I think that ended up being something like 6 or 7 months. He was fully potty trained, day and night before then. We still have to use a pull up at night but he doesn't have the daytime accidents anymore.
