Hi, Mucus in the stool means severe imbalance of the intestinal flora, which may lead to excessive bacterial fermentation in the gut and " autointoxication " from the toxins produced by bacteria (candida for example). Bacterial growth appears to destroy some enzymes needed to digest carbohydrates, so the body is not able anymore to digest and absorb them (the carbohydrates), so these will be available for bacterial fermentation. Excess mucus may then be triggered as the intestine's attempts to flush out the microbial toxins and acidic by-products, and the partially digested carbohydrates. I guess that's why some kids do better on a carbohydrate-free diet. (or almost free... I'm not sure how exactly that diet is). Antifulgals, supplements to heal the gut and probiotics sound like a good solution to " fix " this problem. Hope this helps. Guest guest
> Hi, > If I suspect a yeast problem, can I just try GSE or do you usually > have to do a completely sugar/yeast free diet as well? If my kids are " normal " , then I just use GSE. However, if the yeast gets really bad, I will also reduce the amount of juice and fruit they can have. This seems to work for me. Guest guest
> Can yeast issues be present without obvious symptoms or is it always > obvious? That's a good question! I know with my daughter, although the tests results aren't back yet, she's had two yeast infections and she's only 2. I read in an allergy book, one sign could be a red ring around the anus. Gross, but worth checking. There are other systoms, but these could be symptoms of so many other things. Good Luck.

Between rounds I give 2-3 drops GSE plus NF [reduced from 3-5 drops because I am finally able to give probiotics!], during rounds I give 5-8 drops GSE plus NF. I have been doing this for several months with no problems that I can tell. Dana

Guest guest
Chelsea, Yeast infections are very hard to get rid of. I don't have a lot of time to right now to research my files for all the available information I have, but several things come to mind. (Maybe bg can [again] relate how she whipped this problem.) First is diet. I will post a yeast free diet you can follow which can also be used for immune enhancement. You must omit all sugar and yeast from your diet. Second, be sure your intestinal tract is working properly. Drink 'tons' of water to get rid of the toxins. Here is a candida purge that we have found effective - 6 oz. pure water 2 oz. unsweetened juice 2 teaspoons Caprol - liquid caprylic acid available at(www.needs.com) 1 well-rounded teaspoon pysillium powder 1 TBS liquid Bentonite - www.needs.com Combine these ingredients in a jar with a screw top and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds. Take 1/2 hour nefore breakfast on an empty stomach. Important! Be sure to drink at least 8 ounces of water to keep the pysillium moving through the intestinal tract. Expect results in 3 to 8 weeks depending on severity of problem. Olive leaf extract, pau d'arco and grapefruit seed extract are also effective. We recommend the olive leaf extract from Seagate Products. Also found effective is oil of oregano - 3 drops under the tongue 3 times a day, then 2 drops twice a day for maintenace. North American Herb & Spice has the recomended wild oregano and it's available at discount from www.needs.com or www.vitaminshoppe.com. Geoff may also have it at www.healingyou.org. Oil of oregano is an anti-microbial. For more information on its many uses read the book The Cure is in the Cupboard by Dr. Cass Ingram - www.vitaminshoppe.com or your local health food store. You may experience die-off symptoms when using these products. Just recently I learned of a dentist with severe candida problems that drank 1/4 cup or organic apple cider vinegar daily for 7 days to get rid of it. He then did colonics and was astonished at the dieoff. For a mouth wash, use 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% water in a solution and swish for two minutes several times a day. Spit out the solution. For candida in the vagina - try applying tree tea oil to a tampon. You may have to dilute the tea tree oil if it is too strong for you. You will need to take sufficient quantities of a good probiotic to replace the bacteria being killed off in the gut. All probiotics are not equal. Cat's claw, black walnut or garlic are good in colonics. If you have a serious yeast infection, you will need to consider treating for leaky gut as well. We've found olive leaf extract, slippery elm and glutamine works well. Yes, you can take olive leaf while on Minocin. Ethel IMMUNE ENHANCEMENT DIET includes yeast restrictions ACCEPTABLE FOODS: Eat three to five servings a day of vegetables low in carbohydrates. Rotate to get a wide range of nutrients - especially dark green vegetables. Organic preferred because of higher nutrient value and no pesticides. Asparagus Cucumbers Green & red lettuce Beets Eggplant (avoid head lettuce) Broccoli Green pepper Onions Brussel Sprouts the greens (spinach, collard Parsley Cabbage mustard, beet & kale) Radishes Carrots Romaine lettuce Soybeans String Beans Tomatoes Fresh turnips You may eat modest portion of lean veal or beef - preferably organic to avoid antibiotics and hormones - turkey, chicken, fresh or frozen fish (not breaded) especially salmon, cod, mackerel, sardines and tuna; wild game and eggs. Unprocessed nuts (NO peanuts) - almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, filberts, pecans, pumpkin seeds. (Roasted cashew butter on rice cakes for snacks) OILS - linseed, sunflower, olive and walnut. You may eat one high carbohydrate vegetable a day IN ADDITION TO the 3 to 5 servings of low carbohydrate vegetables. It is important that you rotate these vegetables. Baked potato once a week. Lima beans Sweet potatoes English peas Beans and peas - dried and cooked White baked potato Acorn or butternut squash GRAINS - barley, millet, oats, brown rice and wheat. Avoid corn because of mold. NOT ACCEPTABLE: NO SUGAR of any kind - including honey, fructose, molasses or corn syrups. Candida thrives on sugar. NO regular toothpaste as it contains sugar. NO FRUITS OF ANY KIND. This includes pomegranates. NO BREADS or anything made with yeast. Breads, biscuits and muffins should be made with aluminum free baking powder and using whole wheat flour to avoid yeast and obtain more vitamins and minerals. Six weeks after starting therapy eat some pure Baker’s yeast or Brewer’s yeast and watch for a reaction. If no reaction, eat a yeasty food for 3 successive days. If still no reaction you may have two slices of bread a day. A good health food store will carry a rice bread made without yeast. It will be in the frozen food section. AVOID boxed, canned, processed or packaged foods. NO dairy including cheese. May use some types of soy cheese from health food store. Check labels for ingredients. READ LABELS. Avoid mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire, Accent, barbecue sauces, pickles, relishes, olives, sauerkraut, horseradish, mincemeat and tamari. Avoid vinegars, mayonnaise and salad dressings,. No dried cereals except Grape Nuts and Shredded Wheat. NO pickled, processed or smoked meats. NO mushrooms, morels or truffles. NO watermelon,, honeydew melon or cantaloupe. No fruit juice. If cantaloupe (apt to be contaminated by mold) is properly washed and rinsed in hydrogen peroxide, it may be tolerated. NO dried fruits like raisins, apricots, dates, prunes, etc. AVOID leftover food unless it has been properly refrigerated after preparation. _____________________________________________________________________________ .. rheumatic yeast Hi All,I am new here and I have had some serious yeast problems that I can not seem to get under control.I have gotten some great advice from others on this subject, but I cant seem to win. I take acidipholus every day-about 10 capsules refridgerated. I have also been taking aged garlic as well.My local DR. will not prescribe Diflucan for me. I was in my local health food store today and asked the owner if she had any suggestions. She of course told me to cut sugar and bread out of my diet. I have done this, but I will admit on occasion I have a slice of bread. She told me that the two best natural remedies were olive leaf extract, and a product called Herbal Aloe Force. I thought at one point I was told not to take olive leaf if I was on Minocin, is this true? Have any of you heard of this other product? One of the ingredients of this product is Pau d'Arco, which I have read is good in fighting yeast. I need to do something, I was hoping maybe somebody here has had good luck with something. Do any of you use olive leaf? If so how much should I take. The only form they had was liquid form, and it is alcohol free. Thanks in advance for any advice,Take CareChelsieTo unsubscribe, email: rheumatic-unsubscribeegroups
Guest guest
---Ethel, Thank You so much for the wonderful info you gave me on yeast. I am trying very hard to eat a yeast free diet, there were a few foods on that list that I was surprised by. I have never even thought to stay away from mustard for one. I have talked with BG about yeast in the past and she has always had great info for me. Unfortunalty I have not spoken with her recently. I take aged Kyolic Garilc daily-which BG informed me of. I have recently started with Olive Leaf, I hope I am taking the right kind my local health food store in pretty limited. I have also started taking a Aloe mixture that contains; Aloe Vera leaf, Cats Claw, Chamomile Flower extract, Burdock Root extract, and Pau d'Arco Bark extract and a few other ingredients. I hope this helps as well. I also never new to stay away from dairy, so I take it yogurt is a no no? I always thought the oposite, I eat it daily. Again thanks for putting in the time to help me out, Take Care Chelsie In rheumatic@y..., " Ethel Snooks " <emsnooks@b...> wrote: > Chelsea, > > Yeast infections are very hard to get rid of. I've been at this supplement game for 3 years, only in past 6 months have I been able to spot diff between yeast bacteria and phenol reactions. It does get easier as time goes on but sometimes you just have to guess. Guest guest
Hi Dana, Thanks for the yeast page. Just curious, you had mentioned that Lay's potato chips aggravate your children's yeast problems. When my son eats this brand, he gets very irritable. Although his recent OAT test, showed his yeast metabolites were within range we have battled yeast in the past and stay away from it. Can you elaborate? Is it related to cross contamination with soy/corn or yeast?? Thanks, Reen
Guest guest
Dana, Thanks for your reply about the Lay's potato chips. I had posted another question, but I didnt see it on the forum. I hope you dont mind that I ask another question regarding phenols/salicylates. I'm pretty convinced my son is highly reactive to cinnamon, oregano, orange, red dyes, bananas etc- thus he is phenol sensitive. However, can you assume that if you are phenol sensitive you are salicylate sensitive? Banana confuses me, it has zero salicylates but is classified as high phenol. And if a product has high salicylates, than you cant assume its phenolic? As you could see this totally confuses me. Also I havent seen honeydew is that high salicylates/high phenol? Also, what do you recommend to supplement with (low phenol) if you want to up essential fatty acids ? Have you found any products that worked for your children? Sorry for all the questions.. thanks in advance for trying to clear up my confusion. Best Regards, Reen

Actually they aggravate MY OWN yeast problems. >> When my son eats this brand, > he gets very irritable. My kids still have some problems with corn, so I have to limit it, and Lay's have " corn and/or cottonseed oil " [i think].
