I use GSE plus No-Fenol for my family, works great, yeast is gone in a few days. GSE will cause bacteria problems if I give it when there is no yeast tho, so be careful to watch for improvement and stop if things seem to be getting worse. Guest guest
Grapefruit Seed Extract. You can purchase the smaller bottle for around 10.00 at a Health Food Store Re: Re: yeast What is GSE? Thank you, Robin
Guest guest
I think we are close now after 48 rounds...........we stay low sugar, use copious doses of enzymes (HNI Pep and NF) for our bug control protocol and probiotics - no flares for 3 months during which we did 5 rounds - AC protocol. If he has too much sugar (school grhhh) then a couple of nights dosing Candex enzyme works a treat. So close.........but maybe so far, I'll keep hoping we hit what I affectionately call the 'Dana Stage' - her son is 84 rounds in the bag and no more yeast HTH Mandi in UK > If one does enough chelation, will yeast eventually clear up by itself > without taking any anti-yeast products? >

Not sure I understand your question. Do you mean that if your child gets yeast, will the yeast eventually go away by itself? If so, I would say probably not. You should use probiotics and/or an active yeast killer. If you mean that eventually, at some point in the chelation process, will your child handle chelation without needing anti-yeast products, then yes. My son no longer needs any anti-yeast products except when he overindulges in sweets, like at Christmas. Dana
Guest guest
Hi Dana, I am sorry I wasn't very clear in my post. I know I have yeast, but every time I try to address it,even with only probiotics, I get a bad side effect of numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, and they constantly fall asleep at the slightest pressure, like sitting, shoes, typing, etc. Of course this keeps me from sleeping, and I don't function well at work. So I am only doing DMSA, hoping if enough mercury leaves, my immune system will take care of the yeast gradually on its own and I won't get those side effects. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks, Bernadette Subject: Re: Yeast > If one does enough chelation, will yeast eventually clear up by itself > without taking any anti-yeast products? Not sure I understand your question. My family does not tolerate probiotics. We don't have those same side effects, but you might not tolerate the probiotics. >> So I am only doing DMSA, hoping if enough mercury leaves, > my immune system will take care of the yeast gradually on its own and I > won't get those side effects. That was not the experience with my family, but I will send you good wishes that it works for you. You might want to consider SCD, which targets yeast http://www.scdiet.org/ Dana

Guest guest
I haven't tried their products first of all. I'm following what my doctor told me to use and it is working. I've had a terrible yeast problem for some time, but finally my rashes are clearing up and my tongue is no longer white. What's more, what I'm using is not terribly expensive. Uva ursi (bearberry) by Nature's Way. I take 3 capsules three times daily for 7 days. I'm on my fourth day and feel a thousand percent better already. At the same time I'm taking Candida Clear by NOW. It contains Pau D'ARco, Oregano Oil, Black Walnut and Caprylic Acid. These I take 2 capsules two times a day. I have 90 caps so I'll take all of these. My doctor had originally wanted me to take Oregano Oil sublingually, but I hate oregano and just couldn't hack it. These capsules smell and taste awful, but it's a quick swallow and there's no aftertaste. Many people have suggested many things, and I've found many solutions suggested on different websites. This seems to be the least expensive and least painful method I've found and it's working better than anything else I've tried. Jill p.s. I've stopped my antibiotic and antioxidants this week while I take these. I am still taking the acidophilus however.

Grapeseed won't touch yeast, you would need grapefruit seed extract for yeast. Grapeseed is an antioxidant, so perhaps she has a lot of metals. Or she does not tolerate the grapeseed, even with No-Fenol enzyme. Dana
Guest guest
How does ones test their child for yeast? I know I have asked this question before but lost alot of info, sorry. Guest guest
Well, aside from direct observation, the two tests I know of for yeast are Comprehensive Stool Analysis and Organic Acids test. Comprehensive Stool requires collecting stool samples for about a week, and I believe Organic Acids is first morning urine? It's been awhile since we've tested, so I'm struggling to remember specifics. > How does ones test their child for yeast? I know I have asked this question > before but lost alot of info, sorry. This is a comprehensive stool test. A description can be found at http://directlabs.com/testtypes.php#CDSA including a link to a sample test. When you order it, they send you a test kit that you complete by taking the stool samples as directed, then you put it in the mail (you already paid the postage when you bought the kit) and it's sent to Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab. In about 2 weeks you should get the results back. Lynn

Guest guest
> I was just wondering...if there's any possibility that my son has a > yeast problem, does that need to be addressed first before trying gfcf > or enzymes? You can address things in any order you want. Enzymes also help with yeast issues, so starting with enzymes can help two things at the same time. > Are probiotics something that one can do without the DAN! doctor? Yes If > so, which ones are good to do? Will they completely resolve the > yeast, or do we need something prescribed for that? For some kids, probiotics are sufficient. However, if the yeast is really bad, you might need an active yeast killer. You can buy OTC yeast killers, like GSE, without a prescription. >>Also, do probiotics prevent antibiotics from working when > they're needed? Antibiotics can eliminate the good bacteria from probiotics. So you would give the probiotics about 1-1/2 hours after [or before] the antibiotics. Guest guest
I have been trying something a bit different for my kids for yeast...and it seems to be helping a little. We use ala for chelation....and everytime I use the ala....I add a scoop of no fenol..i hope this is ok.....and then a couple times a day I add some gse.....grapefruit seed extract. At nite before they go to sleep...I give them their virastop and 2 no fenol, 2 afp and 2 zyme...also giving 2 caprylic acid tabs a day. We aren't yeast free but seeing some changes for the better... just my two cents worth.. Ronni
