Guest guest
Hi Jeffery, Thanks for giving us the low down on our non-rights to medical records. Isn't it great to live in the freest country in the world. Geoff has a point, it helps to be on good terms with your health care providers. I also keep records myself. Anytime I have tests done I ask to have a copy of the results sent to myself. Lately, I have switched and asked results to be sent to my ND who shares them with me freely. Take care, Ute
Guest guest
Hi Ute! Geoff here. You wrote: " Thanks for giving us the low down on our non-rights to medical records. " I forgot to mention something. When I want the records, I speak to the provider personally, i.e., I talk to the Doc, not a staffer. The staffers get paid to do things " just so " and have no authority. If they give me a record w/out the Doc's OK, they could lose their job. I don't put people in that position. The Doc can give me the records w/out any problems and I am glad to provide whatever record he might need in his file, i.e., a release or request. Another thing you might want to know: Providers are only required to maintain your records for 7 years. For those of us who live past age 7, this seems ludicrous on its face, but that's the way it is. You really need to do exactly what Ute says, maintain your own records and those of your children and teach them to do the same. Guest guest
I didn't include them in ours. I just included medical records, which were rather thick. cheryl On Mar 31, 2008, at 9:40 PM, Caroline wrote: > Can anyone tell me if Dr. Goldberg wants to see OT, PT and speech > assessments prior to the initial appointment along with all the > medical > records? > > > >
