Guest guest
Hi Di, Yes, he definitely was! In fact, he was so gassy and miserable through infancy (he was breastfed) that when he turned one, I refused to give him cow milk since it's so much harder to digest than breast milk. I avoided all the foods that I heard could be trouble like broccoli, cabbage, etc. while I nursed, but it didn't matter. I was eating cereal with cow's milk though and foods with cheese and I think he was reacting to that. He contined to be gassy and constipated too even after he was weaned. I don't think that this problem was immediately addressed with his antiviral, but he is also on an antifungal. He even continued to have some gas issues through the first couple of years of school. Fortunately the kids were young enough to be oblivious. To my knowledge he wasn't teased for this as the kids didn't notice; he tends to pass gas silently. Anyway, gradually it has diminished and even pretty much disappeared though he does occasionally have constipation still. I know too that his gut is healthier because when we started the protocol, he had an iron deficiency. As per Dr. G, we started him on an an iron supplement, but his iron stayed low because his body wasn't absorbing it. Now his iron levels are in normal range so I know that his gut is absorbing nutrients more effectively. I think that the improved absorption was helped by the antiviral as well as the antifungal. You're in good hands with Dr. G. He will address your child's health at large. The gut will not be slighted. Besides, a healthy immune system (through the help of an antiviral) means a body that can keep yeast under control on its own. It is very good that your son is going to be treated while he is this young. I know that it is scary (I remember) to look at your 3 year old and wonder what the future holds. That is one of the things that is so neat about this group. There are families plugged in here that are at the very beginning of their journey, midway, or even 10 or more years down the line with children (young adults by then) that are thriving and successful. It is a great source of encouragement and perspective and information. Wishing you all the best April Blue Lips > > Our daugther has very blue lips every morning after breakfast. Guest guest
FYI From: gvizjazz@... <gvizjazz@...> Subject: Parent Board klimas_bill@... Date: Thursday, September 17, 2009, 9:46 AM Hello Bill-My son is also a patient of Dr. G and we have emailed in the past. I had my phone consult with Dr. G this week and he said there is a major study coming out in October proving that our kids are suffering from a disease. He wants to know if we can have a core group of parents organized for an effort to seize this opportunity, showing that our kids are ill and that they need the immune modulators to recover. He asked me to email some of the parents from our conference call from last year and try for a new effort. Would you be interested? I hope your son is doing well as mine is now in an adult program with major adjustment issues going on. Take care. Gayle
