Guest guest
Hi Muki, I am not sure about the meningitis shot. My children received all of their vaccination shots on schedule including the chicken pox vaccination (I was extremely ignorant and had no idea that they could have been dangerous at the time). I don't think the meningitis shot was available when my son was young and in Germany but he did get meningitis from a sick baby while visiting the doctor. It was horrible. He did survive it but I have no idea what damage it may have caused. He was a little over 2 years old at the time but I had already suspected autism before he was sick. I hope Dr. G or someone here can answer that question for you. BTW- Both of my kids had a full blow case of chicken pox despite being vaccinated for it. All the best, Jill
Guest guest
Hi Muki - If you have not been observing negative vaccine reactions thanks to the staggered/delayed schedule, and there are no regressions in the 2 weeks after the shot, then I think meningitis is a far higher risk than the vaccine. HTH- innoculation question Dear listmates We have been giving our second (NT) child his innoculations at a more staggered rate. So far our now 18 month year old has had all but 1 DTP and the required polio shots. MMR will only be started after his second birthday. However we have been strongly advised to give a meningitis shot. It includes aluminium phosphate (ajuvant). Has anyone else been given this shot or advised to give this shot? Any comments on the aluminium phosphate? There are periodic outbreaks of meningitis here in Israel so we are a little concerned. Any comments in general. with thanks Muki " The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference.
