Guest guest
Hi, My husband was diagnosed with Hep C and " end stage " cirrhosis approx. three years ago. First thing was he quit drinking! As soon as we found out I started searching on the net for herbal/supplement remedies & diet remedies. I found a book by Cabot called the Healthy Liver and Bowel book. She had information on diet & vitamins, etc. He went on a vegetarian diet plus whole grains and we got the supplements she suggested. Then I found this group and the jovo group. I watch what everyone had to say for a while before I decided that liverfriend.com and Jay had lots of good information and supplements. This has saved my husbands life and I'm sure of it....these groups and Jay's info & supplements. There are many other people that are taking other supplements and working a different program and having great success. These are the only one's that we have experience with. My husband has been seen by the Liver and Transplant hospital for all these years and they have not been in favor of these supplements. They wanted to treat the Hep C but his counts were so low that they couldn't and so they have just watched him. They have offered no other treatment. They just do blood work and Scans and watch him basically. Which honestly has worked out best for us. He saw a difference immediately with the diet and supplements and has continued to get better and better the whole time. Each time the docs would just shake their heads at what we were doing but they had to admit that he is getting better. He works a full time job and comes home and works all evening. If a person didn't know about his condition they would never guess he was dealing with anything. Every so often he gets hit with a bug because his immune system isn't up to par (but that has gotten farther apart as time goes by) He deals with some irritable bowel stuff occasionally. He saw the GI doc the other day and all he could say was " the liver is an amazing organ " . Still unable to admit that anything we have done has helped. (The first time we saw this doctor he said his liver would never get any better.) He told him he was doing well and they would keep an eye on things. The liver and transplant docs have him only coming in every 9 months now. So, as far as success.... I think that's progress and success so far. We are both 54 and he is in pretty darned good shape. Not perfect but pretty darned good. It was horrifying at first to hear this diagnosis but he just keeps working hard to get better. I hope you can get all the information you need to help. Maybe someone else will tell you about the treatment they have dealt with. Take care, Janet San [ ] Success? Is there any success stories? I look on the net and just dont see em. Are there people living with this disease who were diagnosed with level 4 Cirrhosis? What are the typical costs of the treatment? What are the side effects? Not interested in here from doctors just people who have gone through the treatment. Anyone please?
Guest guest
my 2 boys have been in Dr. goldbergs protocol for 3 years. My sister is also in the DFW area and has had her son for 4 years in protocol with Dr. G. AMAZING! And, his focus is on not giving children toxic drugs. In fact the docs in DFW were prescribing them toxic meds to control symptoms...Dr. G prescribes meds to treat the disease not the symptoms...BIG DIFFERENCE! My kids are mainstream in public school and doing so well educationally, socially and physically. It is a process and it is a different timetable for each of us...but, if you can trust the process...you will not be disappointed! > > We are considering this method but wanted to get a better > understanding of what changes some have seen in their Kido's - we have > had one parent at our school which has great success but I wanted to > get more feedback from other parents. Date: Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 2:49 PM We are considering this method but wanted to get a better understanding of what changes some have seen in their Kido's - we have had one parent at our school which has great success but I wanted to get more feedback from other parents. If you wouldn't mind sharing I would appreciate it. Was there a time frame that you saw success, what concerns do you have regarding long term treatment with the drugs? I placed my comment here as I was looking for someone in Texas as well as I'm in the DFW area right now. CW
