Actually, there are several posts containing comments on

strep in the archives. Go to:

Along the left side of the page is a green section;

about half way down, you'll find " PA List Archives " .

Click on that title; when you get to the next page,

locate the boxes in the upper right corner under " Search " ;

write the word you're seeking (in this case " strep " ) and

click " Go " . This will take you a page with posts that have

the word " strep " included in the post.

There are a LOT of posts under this word search.

Hope this helps.

Judy,

I don't know about a correlation between PA and strep, but I first broke out

with my psoriasis was when I had strep throat and I remember the Dr. saying

at the time (1977) that there was a connection.

I get a lot of sinus infections also and am just getting over one now, so do

we know about that connection yet?

I have had two rounds of different antibiotics in the last few weeks for

strep throat. It keeps coming back the day after I finish the 10th day of

antibiotics. Now it is back again for the 3rd time. Any suggestions for

natural therapy that might stop this? I hate to keep taking antibiotics and

I am quite yeasty now. Thanks for any suggestions. N.

Once when I could not get rid of strep throat, I had mono too. For some

reason, that prevented me from curing the strep. Also, some people are

evidently strep carriers and if you have no symptoms other than a positive

strep culture and you've already taken antibiotics, then some doctors say

don't treat it. I don't think you're supposed to test for strep after

treatment for 30 days unless it's the overnight culture. On the other hand,

I just read an article that said that strep is getting very resistant to the

main antibiotics they use, I think amoxicillin and penicillin, but that if

one doesn't work, the other usually does the trick. Hope this helps.

,

I know what I would do I this was me-

3 years ago this same kind of things was happening to my son and

round after round of antibiotics (ears and teeth problems) and then

we tested for yeast and treated that- and low and behold not one more

problem. It was the yeast over growth that was inflaming my son he

had 100 times too much yeast- we had to treat with the yeast with

Diflucan , Nystatin and still give the natural Acidophilus.

What I would do is take care of this yeast over growth.

I would start supplements of Antioxidants, Amino Acids, and

Essential Fatty acids and take olive leaf if you suspect and any

viruses or bacteria. Most of all I would learn about health and

Herbs and all supplements- I love the book " Prescription for

Nutritional Healing " by Balch and Balch it is a good reference. My 2

This is common with antibiotics and you end up getting sick DUE to the

antibiotics

10 days of antibiotic???? Wow!

I am an adult, and if I go more than 3-4 days of antibiotics, I get sick.

Recently I had a similar problem with my son. He had some kind of virus and he

had to take antibiotics. The doctors said at least 10 days. I gave it for 5-6

and then stopped. Immediately the infection returned. I started GSE and

echinaceea and in two days my son was back to normal. I gave these though for a

week and then stopped. He seems to be doing great now.

You are sure that you aren't coming in contact with a carrier?

This is what kept happening to me, until it was discovered that my boyfriend was

a carrier of strep.

I have read that Olive Leaf Extract kills the bacteria, but was

afraid to try it on my kids...didn't want to risk it.

There is an antibiotic shot called Bicillin that can be given at the

doctor's office. That way it bypasses the gut. And most doctors

will have it in their office.

I would recommend that he gets an antibiotic shot at the doctor's

office and continue using probiotic supplements before, during, and

after. There is no mercury in ths type of shot. Strep can be

serious if not treated effectively.

strep throat

Hi

My autistic son got a fever last week for 5 days (12th-16th). He was

tired and little running nose. Not quit bad, so I didn't let him take

any medicine. He was so irritable and cried a lot on 18th-20th. Now, he

is recovery from those symptom. He is happy and comply. His therapist

called me yesterday and told me she had strep throat. I took my son to

see NP today. She told me my son's throat doesn't red, but has high

amount of strep. She oder Ampcillin 250mg bid for 10 days. I wonder

that it's necessary for him to take medicine now. He took diflucane on

Dec. 04 and made a great progression after his yeast be controlled.

Anyone has any idea or experience want to share? Thanks

I would give the medication and also maybe give Diflucan or other

yeast remedy at the same time.

Strep can lead to PANDAS, so watch for that

hi everyone,

i'm not very active in this group but thought i would reach out as i

am fairly new to the nids protocal. btw my 21 month old daughter is

doing AMAZINGLY well on Dr. G's protocal and we are pleased with her

progress.

anyhow, both she and i are sick with what i thought were colds, but

now i'm feeling achy and lethargic. we were at a b-day party this

weekend and one of the boys there has come down with strep.

my question to you is, if my daughter does have strep, is there

anything i need to take with the antibiotics? i vaguely remember

reading something about taking something in addition to the

antibiotic. being that i'm not feeling well i literally do not have

the energy to look it up right now.

thank you so much for your help. ugh. this sucks.

You'll want to take a probiotic with it. Make sure you give it at

least 2 hours away from the antibiotic.
