Guest guest
Hi , We started seeing results within the first several days. Warning: die-off with the introduction of the anti-virals and anti-fungals was new to us and a bit hard. Also, I had a very hard time accepting that SSRI's are part of the protocol. Giving my son so many meds is a bit worrisome. I know he needs them, but I also wonder what they are doing to his body for when he is much older. All that said, we have seen huge gains and we have also seen what happens (big regression) when my son's meds need tweaking. He is a very fragile little ecosystem and Dr. G really knows how to help him be at his very best. He used to be sick ALL the time (a cold would turn into something else and he would be sick for MONTHS at a time), but not anymore. My son is fully included in a regular K class. We still have a ways to go in terms of catch up, but without Dr. G I would have little hope for his future. Now, I foresee friendships, marriage, college - i.e. a full life. Kristy From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Caroline Sent: Sunday, May 18, 2008 8:13 AM Subject: immune modulators and progress We are about to go see Dr. G next week and I had a couple questions for this group. I looked at the archives and saw that he used to use Kutapressin and it seemed like that was really successful but then it was taken off the market. I was wondering if people from this group have experienced as much progress from other medications and which ones have you experienced to help? Where is he in finding a new immune modulator? What does he say about the new drug that was released in place of Kutapressin, nexavir? And, it also seemed like many people talked about it taking until the second year on the protocol to see results. Is it common for it to take that long? I would love to hear some people's experiences on how long it took before progresses was seen. Thanks for any information you can give us on your experiences!! Guest guest
I have two of my three boys are seeing Dr. G--my mild/mod son Noah started at the end of January and my Aspie kiddo started in April. So far we've seen results with both boys. The diet has been helpful, as well as the Valtrex. With Noah we saw results from the Valtrex in about 14 days. Nizoral has also been a tremendous help. With Noah, the results were more attention, more awareness of events and people around him, and some increased verbal, especially spontaneous verbal. The most amazing thing with Noah is the state of his overall health. We had spent the last two years going from doctor to doctor trying to find out why he had excruciating migraines and intense vomiting on a monthly basis. The migraines happened before and after 2-3 day vomiting session. These episodes were occurring every month and sometimes as close together as every two weeks. Last September after extensive testing at UCLA, he was diagnosed with Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (he also has a seizure disorder--both condition are neurological in nature). We were told that he'd probably have it the rest of his life and there wasn't much we could do but nasal Imitrex for the migraines and Zofran for the vomiting. Since about mid February, Noah has had no episodes of CVS and only one migraine. This is nothing short of a miracle for him. This had gone on for years and now it's gone. Needless to say, Noah is much happier and healthier since starting Dr. G's protocol. As for , he was diagnosed with a seizure disorder a couple of years ago as well. We thought that was the cause of is inattention in school and inconsistent grades. This was so aggravating because he's such a smart kid. After seeing Noah's results, we decided to take him to see Dr. G. He started on Valtrex and we saw an overall improvement in about 10-14 days. He doesn't get as tired as he used to and he seems to sleep better at night. The real proof is in his grades. They are consistently high now and more reflective of his abilities. We are by no means at the end of our journey though. Both boys, especially Noah, have a long way to go, but finally, we feel as if we're on the right path. All the best and good luck with your appointment. Robyn Caroline <carrieps@...> wrote: We are about to go see Dr. G next week and I had a couple questions for this group. Guest guest
Hi , He was 3.5. He did not start the SSRI until a year or so into the protocol. The die-offs have lasted several days (I think the longest was ~3 weeks).
