Guest guest
There is no " test " , per se, for . You can read more about here: www.neuroimmunedr.com The fact that he doesn't get sick would really lead me to believe that he has immune issues. There is a list of tests to run on the website. Also know that there are only 3 places to get the protocol. Dr. Goldberg in Tarzana, NNY Autism Center in NY and they also have an office in TX. A dev ped is not likely to do you any good unless they are willing to run the tests. I wouldn't expect them to understand the protocol, though. You'll need to see one of the 3 places mentioned above. Guest guest
, I am no expert with since we have only been with Dr. G for 6 weeks but your son sounds exactly like mine with the exception of the stims. My guy is never sick either, has no bowel issues and is a great sleeper. We suspect an overactive immune system since I have RA and since our family is loaded with autoimmune problems. Just wanted you to know there is another fella out there similar to yours that is on the protocol. We have seen a neurologist who focuses on the link between autoimmune and ASD and an allergist with a heavy background in immunology to try to get someone local who will offer us feedback on the protocol as well as a second opinion. Neither one has even heard of . The nuerologist did say however that the drugs we are taking (Valtrex and Nizoral) cannot hurt him and if we are seeing positive changes there is no reason to stop. We would love a more seasoned parent to give us insight and encouragement to stay the course. Hope this helps. martha -------------- Original message -------------- From: " armymom628 " <armymom628@...> I have posted on a few other support sites I'm on about various things, and I was on the SCD group and mentioned that unlike most ASD parents have experienced..I have a 4 yr old son who's bowels are normal, has no sleep disorders, and rarely " ism's " or stimms. His issues are language expression and eye contact. I infact mentioned that my son is rarely sick...and I mean rarely. She thought that maybe he had because he is never sick. This concept would make sense in the fact that if his autoimmune system is overactive...he would rarely get sick. He was sick once at 3 months old with viral pneumonia, and I can't state since then he has been sick. Not to mention my entire family is a load of all various auto- immune disorders. I am already gearing to start my son on the SCD diet. Does anyone think that I need to get my son tested for ? How do you go about attacking this with a developmental ped? What testing is available and what exactly is a positive test telling me? Thank you so much for your guidance in advance!
