Hello, all --

I'm looking for info about Immunovir. Per Dr. G, we will be starting

a two-month trial with our " low-NK " kiddo next week. For those who

have experience with it: My understanding is that it's a

pharmaceutical suppliment, not a " drug " per se. What form (tablet,

liquid, capsule) does it come in and how do you administer it? How

many times per day? How long does die-off last? Any obvious

behavior/cognitive changes once die-off has subsided? And any

recommendations to make him more comfortable during die-off?

Any and all info welcomed! :)

Hi,

My son has been on Imunovir for just 2 weeks. It comes in a tablet form that is

given by mouth. We are instructed to give it 5x/day (that is right, I said

FIVE) and then 2x/day on the weekend. We have not seen anything positive or

negative as of yet. FYI---it is very expensive :o(

I am also interested for my son who is 10 yo, but have no idea how to

purchase it. We are currently in Australia - is it safe to purchase

Immunovir online ? How do we know it is not tainted ?

Thank you for any info.

The drug name on the box from Rivex Pharm in Canada is Inosine pranobex.

different parts of the world as IsoprinosineĀ®, ViruxanĀ®, PrinosineĀ® and

VirimunĀ®.

depression of the immune system. A partial list includes Aolpecia

areata, CMV, EBV, Hepatitis acute and non-chirrotic chronic active B,

Influenza, Measles Mumps, Viral conjunctivitis and subacute sclerosing

panencephalitis (SSPE). A study published in the 11th volume of the

Journal of Chronic Fatigue Syndromeā„¢, entitled " Clinical Improvement in

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Is Associated With Enhanced Natural Killer

Cell-Mediated Cytotoxicity: The Results of a Pilot Study with

IsoprinosineĀ® " . However, its use in this indication is still considered

investigational. Imunovirā„¢ is approved for the treatment of SSPE in Canada. "

The active ingredient is isoprinosine and is generally the only

ingredient other than some kind of cellulose. It is not an essential

nutrient. It is a precursor to adenosine.

So it is a precursor to a specific amino acid. Anyone know the chemical reason

why this improves the nk cell function?

Our daughter has been on it for about 1 and 1/2 months and we haven't noticed a

big difference. We just had blood work done so we don't know the results. How

is she now? Is she still miserable? What was her blood work like?

Our daughter has been on Immunovir for 2 months. After a 3 or

4 weeks

on it, she had a couple weeks of being really miserable, whining and

crying a lot, much less enjoyment of activities. We brought her to a

doctor but she had no symptoms and they found nothing in numerous blood

tests. Has anyone seen this with your child. We are wondering if this

could be related to the immunovir?
