Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, I was able to quit smoking purely motivated by wanting very badly to have babies. We had been trying, with no luck, but we were about to start fertility treatments. Specificially, though, we were applying for life insurance, and I knew the nicotine had to be out of my system by a certain date. I just happened to realize long afterwards that the B12 shots get rid of the cravings I sometimes get now (and now it's one loooooonng craving that lasts for days, until I get the shot). I started getting B12 shots in my early 20s, so for 20 or so years. I've always had problems with my hormones, and my doctor was from South Africa, and just *knew* they would help, and they did! I recently had to change OBs because my former one did not believe in the shots. They prefer Prozac (for hormone issues???) ;-( I love my new OB, who tries to incorporate natural remedies as much as possible (like I take evening primrose oil - nature's estrogen - and they support that). The new OB wrote a prescription for B12 vials (individual doses) and syringes, and my husband gives me the shots. He's a pro from the fertility drugs I needed to get pregnant. BTW, my grandma, too, got B12 shots. My mom was a very, very heavy smoker with little motivation for quitting, yet she quit prettily easily ~9 months ago with the prescription Chantix.
