If you are using the computer based switch calculator that show voltage you will notice that some of the voltages produced are high enough to be dangerous. I would strongly recommend enclosing the capacitor array in some fashion . In addition if you have ever seen an instantaneous capacitor failure what I’m suggesting would make more sense. When a capacitor fails it is usually creates a small version of a lightning bolt and it will be looking for a ground. I can tell you from direct experience you don’t want to know what it feels like to be in the way.

As for retrofitting an amp meter to an older style machine I think that the easiest and safest way would be to purchase a small electrical box to install the amp meter in that you would then permanently mount it to a convenient place on the wooden cabinet. You would have to drill a hole in the new box and the wooden cabinet large enough for 2 # 12 wires to pass through 3/8†to 1/2†dia. would be sufficient. Then connect the necessary wire to the amp meter and the wire it into the output circuit of the capacitor array.

Suzy,I didn't have any fancy woodshop tools to make the capacitor box. So I basically just have a piece of wood as a base and a wood face plate for the switches. It's essentially 'naked' on the top and sides. With everything exposed, I have easy access and I used wire nuts for the connections. All I have to do is just insert the ammeter between my resistor outputs and the switch array. That's just a couple pieces of wire and another wire nut that I'll need to do the job. It might require more effort for a sealed cabinet. You would have to get inside and see how you could retrofit the ammeter into what is there. It's not really a necessity. I'm doing it simply because it's not going to be difficult for me to access, and it allows me to eliminate the multimeter from the setup.> > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > NO 15 amps is over what the system will handle long term. > > You will> > > > > > cause premature failure at 15 amps.
