Guest guest
Hi Vicki- It is fine to start either med first. Sometimes it's easier to get started on Diflucan prior to seeing Dr G... The order really does not matter. He may make a choice based on labs, but the other med is going to follow in a month anyway. The die-off experience varies so much that there's no way to compare. We never had die-off reactions. No die-off doesn't mean you're not going to benefit, that's for sure. If a kid is really yeasty, he could have a wicked die-off period or simply feel better rapidly. Just seek out dye-free meds ... sometimes reactions can be mistaken for die-off, and wash off the blue dye on Valtrex to rule out sensitivity to that - it's a dense coating and highly reactive in some kids. As far as antivirals, that could be less of a die-off, but many people report feeling ill and out of sorts (the CFS adults) at first ... again, can't anticipate it. I fretted myself silly prior to meds waiting for that awful die off ... all wasted worry because they never had that happen - only immediate leaps and immediately feeling better. I wish that for you!
