Hi Lena,Actually, I keep thinking I need to write to you but have been swamped on group and private emails and I just dont' find the time!!Yes, your grains definitely reproduce faster, not sure why as they are fed the same milk... Perhaps just a different strain...

At first I thought the taste was weaker, but then I realized I was drinking your 24 hour Kefir, my 72 hr Kefir... Now thatboth at 72 hours, they have very similar tastes... Yours maybe just a bit more tart (which I like)..  Actually after I strain the Kefir, I blend

the two together to drink... I don't want to blend the grains as yours do reproduce faster. My first 24 hour batch, I could see the increase in the grains!! Now I understand when others say they grow overnight! My grains

are slower.  I did try washing (distilled water) one batch of my grains a while back, but they continued to grow at their slower pace!I've also tried reusing the glasses the Kefir grows in (without washing), didn't help either.

Gosh, I now have six 12 oz glasses of Kefir going!! Your grains now allow me to sip it all day long! And I have enough grains in my glasses to comprise of 50%, so I just add 50% milk... I've started adding some into my cat's food and will start on my dogs

soon... I've read it is very healthy for them... Sprocket whispered in my ear he'd like some too... :-)What I do notice by blending the two together, then adding a bit of maple syrup, I get a nice thick smooth Kefir!! Which I drink

over a 12 hour period of time!!  Mine alone is not as smooth... Thank you!!Jim

OT: Kefir, or, a rose is a rose is a rose

Hi Jim,It was interesting to hear that my kefir grains replicated faster than the ones you'd been using. Did you notice any other differences, like in taste, thickness, ph, amount of whey, timing of the appearance of whey. I'm wondering how many hundreds of varieties of keifr are out there. Glad you have two now to compare.

From time to time, with the abuse it gets on the road, my kefir changes, and then I flush it with distilled water, feed it fresh organic milk, and let it restore its own balance. Usually, within 2 days it's once again at its best.

Be well,Léna
