Guest guest
Hi all, I need your help, my 8 .1/2 years old son had swollen cheek(left side only) for the last couple of days. He does not have fever or pain and is eating, drinking and sleeping well. It worries me because even his eyelids are swollen. I took him to the doctor yestreday and all he gave me antibiotics because he though it could be an infection in the tooth and he recommended to take him to the dentist and I did. The dentist could not find anything wrong and told me to give him the antibiotics just in case. I have not have giving him the antibiotic yet, waiting to see if he improves as yesterday afternoon I gave him a cap. of vit. C 1000mg and the sweeling went down a bit, but this morning when he woke up his cheeck was very swollen again. I would appreciate any information you could give me. Guest guest
I'm guessing there is no sign of a bug bite... and since the teeth checked out okay... another reason for swelling are allergies. Is that the side he sleeps on in bed? Are you using a new detergent or does he have new sheets/pillows/etc? Or is his pillow old and in need of replacing? Do you use " allergy cases " over his pillows (under the pillow case)? Those can help with dust mite related issues. But since both the doctor and dentist recommended the antibiotic, I'd give it a try. - in Mobile, AL ______________________________________ " You must write for children in the same way as you do for adults, only better.
