In answer to are the scans the same, I¹m sorry I but don¹t know!

I did want to pass along that Dr. G is particular about where the scan is

done, though. I¹m thinking that it has something to do with comparing

apples to apples... if the machine isn¹t calibrated the same, then he can¹t

compare it to the other scans he has (something like that). I¹m digging way

back in my memory here and may not remember things right, so it might be

best to call his office (818) 343-1010 and ask if it has to be done at a

certain place.

Subject: NeuroSpect scans

This might be a dumb question, but is a neurospect scan the same as a

brain spect scan?

I know Dr. G refers patients to the NeuroSpect scan clinic in Santa

. However, I can get our insurance to cover the cost of the

spect scan if a prescription is written by my son's pediatrician and

done at our in-network hospital. So I'm wondering if the neurospect

and brain spect scans are the same thing, and if so, can we do it at

Children's Hospital and have the results sent over to Dr. Goldberg?

Please let me know. Thanks!

We never got our scan done but we were talking about it before we

left the practice. Here's what we were hoping we could do but we

hadn't fully talked about it with Dr. G so it might be worth looking

into for you. We were planning to have it done by Cedars where it

would be covered by insurance but have the results sent to Dr. Uszler

at SMITA to read. Dr. Uszler said to get the raw data from them and

he would analyze it. This way we only had to pay the office visit.

Dr G uses Scans that have been callibrated based on Dr. Mena's normal

controls. Many scans show " improvement " when in reality they were

never calibrated correctly- Dr Mena has the only data base of normal

children in the world. It was done in Chile where you are allowed to

test on normal children
