Guest guest
My son is 6.5 years and has not been diagnosed with Kanners, but has PDD-NOS. He did have normal development and I do not recall him being spacy when very young. He did not have a severe regression that many do, but just sort of faded along the way and id not keep up then with normal deveopment. He was 15-18 months and then started in with some abnormal play. He also did babbling with inflection young also and then also really stopped saying anything even after a while. We just started the protocol with Dr. and have been on Valtrex for only 2+ months and have seen positive results. He is higher functioning but is improving in social areas and also with pretend play. I think he will also improve, hopefully with the antifungal, I am sure he has yeast overgrowth as well. We have not really done hardly any aba, and do handle and RDI instead, and he is making progress. This is just my story and results, hope it helps. I can't be sure if my son was born with classic autism or if it was the HepB vaccine within an hour of birth. He was always quite spacy and lacked eye contact, even as a baby, yet he achieved all of his motor skills milestones on time. He would imitate " mama " at 11 months, although he hardly ever babbled. And then he gradually stopped imitating sounds and was absolutely mute. It took over 5 months of ABA therapy to get him to say " ma ma ma " again. So, I can't say that he has regressive autism... makes a lot of sense to me, but I'm wondering if it can help my son. Is there hope for my son if he has classic autism?? Guest guest
I have wondered the same thing about my daughter! I don't know if she has Kanners or regressive because it sounded like she had both. She had really bad reactions to her shots and she had sensory issues early and then she regressed at 13 months. To reassure you, my daughter is also doing very well and showing improvements on the protocol and it has only been about 2.5 months. She is sleeping better and more attentive for sure. Still autistic, though but I have hope Hope this helps! May the Lord bless you and keep you! Guest guest
In case it helps, my son did not regress. He never babbled and then stopped. He just simply never babbled. He was happy and smiled and laughed often, but always avoided eye contact. He is a patient of Dr. Goldberg's and has been helped tremendously. The only way to know for sure is to go ahead and do the labwork. Dr. Goldberg believes that he can help about 95% of the kids diagnosed with " autism " so the odds are definitely in your favor. Guest guest
While my son did have some high viral levels, many were titer levels from vaccines (I am not saying this is the only cause of his high viral load either), the rest of his immune panel was not that abnormal. (Herpes I think was also high). We started nids in Sept. and I and others have seen changes in him already. I know others will also say the labs cannot always indicate the problems with the immune system. Others probably have more to say on this than I do, regarding labs since we just started. My son also fits a lot of the descripton you gave, and we have a family history of some related problems like allergy, etc. Angie From: elyse14 <elyse-g@...> Subject: Re: Can help kids with Kanner autism?
