Guest guest
yes B12 is made in the stomach if a certain factor is present; I cannot think of it and will have to send name later; older people are often missing this factor, and must take B12 shots every month; some people can manage on tablets; the body uses a small amt but it is important. Guest guest
Hi The B12 group of vitamins include Folic Acid, one of it's protective source is the Liver. I am on Methotrexate (for Rheumatoid Arthritis) and I take 5Mg very day to protect it from the nasty side effects of this pretty nasty med. My dear wife has Hepatitis C, she also takes it to help protect her liver from the HEPC virus. Women should also take Folic Acid some 12 weeks before getting pregnant and 12 weeks following the pregnancy. However the dose for pregnancy is in the microgram range and NOT in the Mg range. Best talk to your doctor for the correct does. Guest guest
Does anyone else get (or has have gotten) intramuscular B12 injections? If yes, did you phase them out and still do ok? I started receiving the shots in May and get them once a month. I got bloodwork done for the first time and my level increase some from the low 200s to the mid 300s. I asked my doctor when do i ween off the shots and she said i'll probably get 1 or 2 more rounds, and then switch to an oral dose. I guess the range of normal is so wide that each person responds differently? In adition to the B12 i'm on prescription Vitamin D (2 years now); OTC Calcium supplements (also 2 years); prescription folate (6 months now); and OTC iron & vitamin C (6 mos now, but i've been on iron supplements(at one point the liquid version, bleh, for 10 years now, I phase in and out of being on them, i dealt with anemia for 7 years b/4 it was discorved i had celiac disease.) Just curious if anyone else has been on this regimine. So far all of my vitamins have been from these two brands, mostly because they say no gluten or no wheat on the bottle. I think I did contact Vitamin World years ago about whether the B12 was actually gluten free and it was. It's been good for me. I'm not sure if that brand is carried here in SF. ----- Original Message ----From: Bronwyn Syiek <bronwynquinstreet> Sent: Friday, September 12, 2008 7:37:02 PMSubject: RE: [ ] Re: Continuing symptoms and alcohol I had exactly the same experience and, at a point, did exactly the same with a “no-tolerance” decision as puts it. Guest guest
Do you guys find that the vitamins help at all with your energy level? Calcium pills are the only thing I've made an effort to take because of the specific absorption issues associated with celiac. I've been very bad about it though because I hate taking the pills. I've heard that B12 can benefit in gaining weight but I believe that's been very difficult to show really, and I'm curious... what do you the feel is the benefit? Thanks,NarenOn Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 11:05 PM, Wallace <AWallace@...> wrote: Does anyone else get (or has have gotten) intramuscular B12 injections? If yes, did you phase them out and still do ok? Guest guest
I take a multivitamin and mineral complex plus extra B complex and then a Calcium+D+Zinc Complex all on my doctors order. When I take the vitamins regularly my fatigue is greatly reduced. If I do not take them all I want to do is sleep. I have had blood test that show both my B6 and B12 low but the doctor recommended a balanced complex rather then taking only those two. It really seems to help me. I have been ordering from Puritan's Pride lately and have not had any problems. But you have to be really careful what you order from them.
