Guest guest
I don't have any experience with Immunovir specifically. In general, though, my oldest and my middle son regress when we begin a new med. After about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks, things even out and we see some improvement. The only time we didn't was when Noah took Zoloft. His hyperactivity and oral fixation didn't go away, so we switched him to Paxil and, after the two week introductory period, he bounced back better than ever. Good luck. Guest guest
I do not yet have experience with Immunovir either (we may start it soon, depending on the results of upcoming tests), but has been getting IMGG shots and he always seems to regress for a few days right after the shot and then bursts forth with new language and social skills. I posted a few weeks ago all depressed because he didn't seem to be getting any benefit from the shots, when suddenly, VOOOM! He took off. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that even though there may not be a traditional " die-off " with Immunovir since it works differently than the anti-viral, your son may be experiencing the phenomenon I've heard referred to as a " healing regression " . Either way, if your appt. with Dr. G is next week, you will soon have an answer -- either the Immunovir isn't right for your child, or you are on the right track. Guest guest
Three to four weeks in we went through die-off like symptoms. for several weeks. I spoke with Dr Klimas about it when it first started and she said it depended upon how effective the immunivor was for the individual. Like the antivirals the bigger the die off the more effective the treatment was. For us it was less pronounced and lasted a bit longer. When we change antivirals the emotions and discomfort are sudden and very obvious. With the immunivor it kind of built up and then dwindled away. ________________________________ From: Robyn & Greg Coggins <rngcoggs@...> Sent: Monday, January 12, 2009 12:18:36 PM Subject: Re: Any regression with Immunovir I don't have any experience with Immunovir specifically. Guest guest
We just met with Dr. G today, so I should know this one, from what I understand, Immunovir helps boost the immune system similiar to gammastan but in the protocol, is given after gammastan has been used for quite some time. The symptoms my son is experiencing are like that of a die-off but not as severe. We are cautiously optimistic that we could see an improvement over the next few weeks. Sorry that I cannot be more specific. Can anyone supply more details? > > And I'm curious if it is the same or similar to gammaglobulin? > > Kristy > Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry > > Re: Any regression with Immunovir > > > Would you please explain me WHAT IS INMUNOVIR?
