I NEED HELP FOR MY DAUGHTER ASAP.  i tried to start a new thread but don't know if i did it right because it did not post. never done it before.  so i'm going to hyjack this thread. this is OT but this site has the the most knowledgeable people i know of for natural cures.

she emailed this morning and said she was in the e.r. last night with severe pain.  found out her (hereditarily bad) gall bladder has stones.  dr said it must come out.  but she doesn't want that, and she doesn't have insurance.

she is asking for my (health info) help.  wow, that's a first--finally.  she was looking for g.b. flushes on line but is confused and on pain pills and can't focus so she needs to know what is the best one to try.  the only one i know of is the epsom salt, olive oil and grapefruit juice one.  is that the best and fastest way to do it?  good link??

i have tried this one, got really sick, but actually felt better afterwards.  but will it help to clear out the g.stones?  i know it will take several to do the job, if it is to work.

does anyone know if this is the best?  has anyone been successful with it or know of one who has saved their g.b. with it?  is there a better one?really need help soon as she is in pain, kind of urgent.  is the pain a sign that there is a stone lodged somewhere or just that it is full?  i don't know a lot about it, even though i had mine out.  i had no pain but did have stones and thought it might be the cause of my symptoms (back in 03), when i didn't know what i know now.  my mom had hers out--it had died- and then sister was in severe pain for yrs and finally had hers out.  her daughter also had her's out.

any suggestions on diet right now to ease the pain--or is there anything she can do to do that?so can anyone help with info?  if you know how to cut and paste this to a new post would be great.  maybe the one i tried to post will pop up soon, but until then needed to get this info out for help.

thanksbarbara

thanks marie, been there, done that.  my sister has pushed the xylitol.  but my folks will go to the store and buy the sweets.  cookies, candy, etc.  plus they still have bags of stuff from his kids they got for christmas. they put it in the freezer and eat it all yr long.

thanks you so much for the suggestion, and you are right about the xylitol.  but nothing works.like khaya said, we can't make them change at their age unless we have total control over their food and that won't be for a while yet.  so i must just let it go for now.  they have the right at their age to make their own decisions, right or wrong.  then later, we will pick up the pieces and do the best we can.

again, thank youbarbara

Barbara I know the feeling ,

I managed to accept this only by putting things into perspective after being confronted to my own death when i was in a jeoperdised situation : only love count then , nothign else

so sweet or not more years or not what they were doing or I had been doing, it was the love that was counting nothing else . For the mother  love is sweet.

Forgivr me for th enaivety of my idea it will probably not work .

Here it is : sweet candies jams but with a good suger xylitol. I found this for my sweety who will not let go his sugar at least I have skept the biger consomption now he still by a brioch once in a while

bu the take the xylitol jam that has antiinfectious property and is not toxic .

here is the website : www.NaturesHollow.com

you can even aske to your mothe rto buy some for you and your husband saying she is right and this one was introduced to you by a freind ( true me ..) an dthat you both enjoyed it very much .

an othe rone is called Xyla

there rasberryjam is super .

kindly Marie

jim,

i will definitely do the biotin.  have always had very long nails and now i have to keep trimming them when they break, and they break way down low.  feel handicapped with them short.

would love to get mom off those sweets.  and so would my sisters.  yesterday, when she was here she was talking about her breakfast, 'and then we went into the living room and had our cookie and coffee.'

all three of us girls have been on her case, jim.  she is 86 and will do what she wants to do.  i am so very frustrated that i have to detach.  she could live many more yrs as longevity is in her family, and would like to have her around, coherent, but i can't make her.  i have had to back off for my sanity as well as peace--i guess the same things.  seems i have become the parent and she the child and the more i nag, the more she tunes me out.  and then there reaches a point where she will do it just to prove she still has control of her life.

so sad, but there is not much we can do.  i have told her i don't want sweets here, my health and my husband's weight and health.  so she comes with sweets and says, 'i know you said no sweets but these looked so good, and i thought of tom (husband) and how much he likes these " .  and she smiles.  if we are there, she pushes stuff on us.  mostly i can resist.  but there are those times i cave.  so don't go there much. that is that generation also, feeding everyone will make it all better.

thanks for the biotin info.

Hi Barbara,My nail were so brittle and always chipping and breaking... I added in Biotin and now they are rock hard! I've actuallyhad to reduce the dose to 2 days on, 1 day off..

Now they never chip or break....Get Mom off them sweets!! Has she had her blood sugar checked lately?I have a big list of supps to keep blood sugar in control... But diet is alsoimportant..
