Hi

My son is 10 and has been on the nids protocol for 7 months. We started gfcf

yeast free one year ago. He has autism, adhd, allergies, pandas. It has taken me

such a long time to figure out the biomedical issues. I am so happy to report

that Jake is the healthiest and happiest he's ever been since going on the diet

and starting nids.

We still have alot of ups and downs but the ups are keep me so optimistic.

Here are my questions about sugar and diet.

Why has sugar become such an issue? He becomes so erratic and aggressive if he

consumes sugar, molasses, honey etc. Is this an allergy or an absorption issue?

Now that he has been on the diet it seems his sensitivity has heightened on all

foods. When we do a mild cheat on gluten like pizza crust, the next day he's

achy and grabbing his legs. I think he also gets headaches.

I'm just shocked at his reactiveness to foods now. Where as before I never

thought his diet was a major culprit. Is it because he is so cleansed from all

these foods? He is on valtrex, diflucan, allegra, singulair, and celexa. I am

seeing cognitive gains along with language and social boosts.

He is so much happier unless he has a diet infraction. Then watch out he just

completely falls apart.

I just want to better understand so I can continue moving him along this long

journey.

has been our godsend! Thanks so much to on and Dr Bruce

along with everyone on this list.

Any advice or info to help me sort this out is so appreciated!!

Vicki
