Guest guest
Hi all, Was feeling really unwell for a long time and my symptoms only CFS could it match it! Fatigue, swollen all over body, heartburn, sick, headaches, abdominal pains, unable to lose weight, worse in the morning really sluggish and as if no sleep. Many more ... Had food allergy test done...allergic to 11 foods including: Cows milk, goats milk, cheese, wheat, egg, yeast (brewers and bakers) etc. Started diet to not eat these. Within 10 days felt better getting up in morning...felt like my food was being digested for the first time and not seeping into my abdomin. My whole body has deflated and not swollen. No heart burn, sleeping better and sluggish morning starting to reduce. Lost 10lbs...wow! Decided to try those foods, wheat, milk, cheese for one day only.....next day violent headaches all day...could not even get out of PJs till 6pm! Abdomin starting to swell, with pain. feeling heavy next day the inside of my whole mouth swollen and still swollen 2 days after trial. Heartburn, felt sick and did not sleep very well! Still their the symptoms but starting to reduce. What I am allergic too is the same as doing the diet! I cannot believe the differences in symtoms and how better I am feeling on this now allergy diet!I believe now that allergy induced CFS was my situation. I live in UK so have no benifit in writing about this...but I am now looking forward to slowly introducing my son with autism on this diet. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your story! My mother suffers from several immune problems and I've been trying to get her to do the diet to help her feel better... maybe your story will help her decide to try the diet herself. I've been on the diet myself for over 3.5 years because of a pregnancy, breastfeeding, and now another pregnancy (I'm in my last month- hooray!) I used to eat/drink a TON of dairy products and after cutting those items out I noticed I was NOT bloated... but I never knew I WAS bloated because I was bloated all the time and never knew any different. I no longer get migraines, either. And my anxiety/depression/OCD is more manageable. - in Mobile, AL P.S. My oldest son (10 years) has been with Dr. Goldberg since October 2002. My second son turns three in November and I followed the diet while pregnant/breastfeeding and he's just this year allowed to eat a few things with dairy and whole grains- like letting his friends share cheese crakers with him every once in a while. I also followed Dr. G's vaccine schedule for him (only skipping the HepB and chicken pox, all others given but slower/broken up.) He's been an easy baby/child and is ahead in development. His communication/language is as good/better than his older brother's. And he didn't have the constant ear infections and such that plagued his brother as an infant. A night and day difference in health and well-being. ______________________________________ " You must write for children in the same way as you do for adults, only better. Guest guest
My sister had a baby in November and is following Dr. G's schedule for introducing foods. Her daughter is thriving and is ahead in development. I have fibromyalgia, low complement and low IgM. My husband and I are eating low carb and we've both noticed that we haven't had any stomaches, gas or bloating. Although low carb is not the diet, there are some crossovers. I really think the whole grain was hard for both of us to digest. All the best, Robyn From: C. - Wonderwegian <carriecox@...> Subject: Re: CFS and Food Allergies Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2008, 3:06 PM Thanks for sharing your story! Guest guest
I read these and went and threw my secret stash of ice cream in the garbage. Part of me wants to say ya'll are just mean, 'cause I didn't want to. lol just kidding. Guess I needed a swift kick in the butt. I figured " I'll get to feeling better on meds first, then start tackling that " . Yeah right. That 10 lbs part really got me. I gained 20 this year - in as little as 6 weeks. Just went " poof " ! And I know most of it's bloat because I don't eat enough to feed a 50 lb kid. Guess I'll get busy. I don't wanna. I had before ... wondering why I got lazy and fell off. Haven't felt good in forever. And I SOOOOO know better. Shame on me! Thanks for sharing, both of you. CFS and Food Allergies Hi all, Was feeling really unwell for a long time and my symptoms only CFS could it match it! Guest guest
Its like someone stuck a pin in me the bloating is just deflatting....my 'whole' body was badly bloated! My gland in my neck (left) swollen like frozen ice, now starting to melt...still feel exhausted, in pain etc but feel easier not so swollen...still got a way to go! My intestines I feel are starting to work and not feel like 'mushy peas'. I spoke to my son's Paed today and he said wheat allergy was common in CFS...I didn't know that? But my doc wont diagnosis me! Well she is young and slim and cant ubderstand how and what it feels like! Youll do it when your feeling ready , hang on in their girl ;0) > > I read these and went and threw my secret stash of ice cream in the garbage.
