All they do is keep your intestines from cramping. The peristalic action will still continue, trust me on this one. There is a huge difference between cramping and peristalsis. Actually, you may not have any problems at all. Everyone is different. Not everybody has trouble using senna leaves. So I suggest that you try it and if you have cramping or griping then add in some cloves, cinnamon, fennel or ginger.
