Guest guest
Donna, We had the same trouble with our 3 ½ year old. It was very stressful. The compounding route didn’t work for us as the meds still tasted horrible even when disguised in crystal light. Our OT gave us good council as did the folks in the group. First we wrapped the pill in dairy free butter and then placed it on the back of his tongue. We quickly sat him up and put slight pressure under his chin to induce swallowing. At first we had to force his mouth open by squeezing his cheeks ( I hated this part but it was the only way we could get the meds down). Once he felt the the discomfort of this method of couple of times he opened up like a champ. Hope this helps. You guys are just the best! seemed fine this morning, and I'm feeling much better myself in the light of day. Thanks for the great ideas.
