Guest guest
I am writing for my daughter my grandson age 10 (non verbal) diagnosed PDD autism at age 3 yrs. We are so discouraged We have tried numerous therapies,ABA ect. We have done the DAN protocol 2 yrs with this he was physically sick he wasn`t able to go to school, speech ect. Trying to make this brief. Since seeing Dr. G. in July of this yr. he has done tremendous( physically healthy now we feel good about him being more healthy even though he has viral issues he is on Famvir for this. Had a SPECT Scan in Ca. when seeing Dr. G. is on SSRI`s bad experience with one SSRI changed to another now more focuced but the violent outrages are unpredictable getting upset if his 4 yr old sister gets loud or any task ask of him then goes into an episode ( continuous biting always never stopping worse in anger thowing any object in his way. We took all out of his room except bed , dressers, TV (unplugged puts him in his room for the bad behavior she has tried this still nothing works. Has anyone had this problem with their child we do not know where to turn. We know he is more aware we have tried PECS, Augmentive Device refuses to use. Appreciate any replies this little boy was never like this always very loving we are sick over this. This anger seams to take control. Guest guest
Go back and ask for advice from Dr G directly as it seems to me that he is in the best position to advise. He has seen a significant number of children over the years and should be aware of various behavioural issues/changes as a result of his protocol and should be able to offer support strategies. Guest guest
You may want to keep a careful journal of foods and possible triggers. My son experiences aggression with the following: Zyrtec, Allegra, soy proteins and soy lecithen (soybean oil is ok - no proteins), and food colorings. Lack of language can be soooo frustrating. Don't give up hope. We usually find that every time my son has aggressive spells, something was triggering it, although it can often take months for me to figure it out. For us, it is usually soy lecithen, and takes 5plus days for it to get out of his system. The two allergy meds were also big problems, but didn't start right away, so we overlooked them for a long time. HTH, ________________________________ From: " goldsmull@... Guest guest
I ditto this. My son can get aggressive with food colorings/dyes and preservatives, especially if combined with sugar. I have not seen aggression from him for a long time (on Dr. G's protocol for 3 years). Guest guest
It took a long time for your grandson to become so sick, and it will take some time for him to become much healthier. My experience with my 6 y.o. son (with Dr. G for 3 years) is that we've had A LOT of gains, but it has not always been easy and we have had some major regressions along the way as new things have been introduced, but once his body adjusts he gains MORE than the regression set him back. In other words, it has been a journey, but a mostly very good one. Guest guest
We do have days of agressive behaivor with my 5 yo son, mostly due to viral or yeast die off. With yeast die off reducing anti fungul protocol helps, also magnesium has good coming effect, few other supplements also help like GABA, 5HTP. I don't always do what doctor says, but follow simptoms. Yeast die off gives trrible headaiche, that's why kids get aggressive if they can't expalin it. Also my son also was sensitive to kids cry, but after we did AIT, he's getting better. This kind of issues relates to auditory processing, did you look into that. You can do test for that with audiologist, NACD good in working on auditory processing Hope that help, feel free to ask anything else Natalia Regards Natalia Ibbott
