Hey all :)

My daughter started Lexapro last week. Does anyone

know if it is normal to have your child be really

tired and crabby all day from it? Does it get better

or does that mean we need to try another SSRI?

My daughter is doing great on it though. Right away

she is much more " with us " .

Thanks in advance for your help!

My son has Lyme disease with possible Autism. He takes long term Biaxin and

Doxycycline. He also takes Valtrex. When he started the Lexapro he was all over

the place with moods...the doctor then checked his Serotonin level which Lexapro

is dependent on to work. His Serotonin was so low it did not even register. He

put him on 5 HTP from Pure Encapsulated. The Lexapro works great now.

I hope this helps.

,

We started Lexapro the beginning of December and my son (3 yrs old)

had a very similar reaction. He was also very agitated and very,

very stimmy. We hadn't changed anything else. After talking to Dr.

, we stopped taking it. We will probably start something

different after our next phone consult. Had blood work done and

waiting for results.

I'm not but I highly doubt Dr. G did this. Dr. G does not test

seratonin levels (I asked a long time ago). Testing seratonin levels

does not tell you how much is in the brain, which is where he is most

concerned, it only tests how much is in the blood. In order to know

how much is in the brain, you have to test CSF and no doctor will do

that just to see. I have no idea how Dr. G would respond to having

levels so low in the blood it wouldn't register but I doubt he would

test to begin with.
