, I am sorry for the loss of your Dad. You are mourning in a typical

way, with guilt. But, dear don't be typical this time. You are not at fault.

But, I would do as Donna suggested. Get copies of his records. If at all

possible, get them the moment you request them, and keep the record personnel in

your sight. I say this because I had the experience of many records being

pulled, at a doctor's office, before I could see them.

Love a lot, , and best to you and your family.

Thank you for all your replies. My father was buried yesterday with

a military 21 gun salute. It was very touching. It is now sinking

in. My 16 years old was a little trooper. She even spent the night

with me in his room. She came to my room last night in tears saying

I miss grandpa. My children have had to bury 3 grandparents in the

last 3 years. My son who is now 18 was so close to his grandpa who

was the first to die. He was so affected by that and has tried since

to build a wall (I can see it getting higher every time).

I did want to bring up a point. We went my father to OSU medical

center for a brain evaluation to determine for sure it was Lewy

Body. My aunt had one and it confirmed Lewy body and alzheimer. The

report said it had not seen this kind except in familiar cased. Plan

ahead if you choose to have this done. There was a cost of $2,000.

We were told if he would have died in the care center it would have

been free.

I also wanted to bring up what we experienced. My Dads mood was good

and all of a sudden he got agitated they kept increasing his seroquel

and he was getting more sedated. I went in one evening and noticed

bruising all over him (He was there recovering from a hip fracture).

He had a huge bruise on his other hip, gait belt indentations and

bruising, bruising on his chest, bruising by his eye, lump on his

chin with bruising. His glasses were bent. (??the next day they

were fine) Nobody seemed to know how this happened?? There is no way

if he fell he got up on his own! Doctors at the hospital said he

could have a bleed. We still do not know what happened. I guess

when they evaluated the brain it will tell us if he had a bleed.

This torments me wondering what happened to him. It makes me feel as

though I failed him. It makes me angry!! I understand with lewy body

there will likely be falls. I feel as though they covered it. The

other care center called us every time he fell. I just wanted to

share this and tell all of you if you see signs and question issues

with your loved ones don't delay act on it, asks questions!

Thanks
