LLMD's are licensed doctors in exactly the same respects as docs who specialize in infectious diseases. Oh, I see...your LLMD *could* prescribe, but your insurance wouldn't cover it because the LLMD is out of network. How long were you able to get antibiotics covered by insurance with the ID doctor?
