Guest guest
Sundeep, Good luck in your pursuit. We also faced a lot of denial of coverage in my wife's Lyme disease treatment. I will tell you what we tried, even though we were not completely successful. I compiled some Medical Journal articles to demonstrate among other things that the Lyme bacteria could exist for long periods of time among antibiotics, and then when the antibiotics were removed, the bacteria resumed their multiplication. Also, we supported with articles our position that 1 round of antibiotics was typically not successful against Lyme disease, especially when it had become neurological. We supported all of our points with Medical Journal articles in an attempt to gain acceptance from our insurance company. I was not successful in getting most of it paid for; the only things for which I succeeded in getting coverage were things like prescriptions for side effects like anxiety, seizures, etc, and some oral antibiotics. We did not get her IV antibiotics completely paid for, although I fought it as high as I thought I could go in my employer's chain of command and the insurance company's. I suppose I could have sued, but didn't pursue it, since I liked my job, in general. I'm sure you will get some better advice from the rest of the group. And again, good luck, To: Lyme_Aid_Buhner ; Lyme_and_Rife Sent: Tuesday, March 20, 2012 10:22 AMSubject: Bombarded by USCIS department for medical treatment on chronic lyme disease Hi Guys,I'm being contacted by my employer and USCIS saying that chronic lyme disease does not exist. It does not require so many months of leave. They want me to provide sufficient evidence for the treatment that I'm undergoing. I did take the letter from my doctor for last year november and December. I'm looking for more documentation. What more information do you guys think I should provide? May be write a letter to tell them about the controversy...Thanks,Sundeep.
