2008 10:55:27 +0000Subject: [autisminfo] FDA approves 2008-2009 flu vaccines

FDA's press release is

herehttp://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2008/NEW01872.htmlLinks to the 6 approved

vaccines are at the bottom of this

pagehttp://www.fda.gov/CbER/flu/flu2008.htmPackage insert links are available

through each product specific link. Interesting that some of these have not been

approved for children, one only for children above 4 years of age. Of course,

multi-dose shots have thimerosal as stated in the package inserts. Although all

three flu strains have been changed this year, the only injectable vaccine

approved for young children (Fluzone) refers exclusively to a study of 31

children between 6 and 26 months old using the 2003-2004 vaccine formulation

with all 3 antigens different than this year's formulation. The clear message

for us parents who read the package insert is that no testing whatsoever has

been done on this year's 3 specific antigens. Also, according to

http://www.fda.gov/cber/label/fluzoneLB.pdf " Fluzone vaccine has been

standardized according to the US Public Health Service (USPHS) requirements for

the 2008-2009 influenza season and is formulated to contain 45 micrograms (ìg)

hemagglutinin per 0.5 mL dose in the recommended ratio of 15 ìg HA of each of

the following 3 strains: A/Brisbane/59/2007 (H1N1), A/Uruguay/716/2007

(A/Brisbane/10/2007-like strain) (H3N2), and B/Florida/04/2006. Gelatin 0.05% is

added as a stabilizer. Each 0.5 mL dose may contain residual amounts of

formaldehyde (not more than 100 ìg), polyethylene glycol p-isooctylphenyl ether

(not more than 0.02%), and sucrose (not more than 2.0%). There is no thimerosal

used in the manufacturing process of the No Preservative single-dose

presentations of Fluzone vaccine. The multi-dose presentation of Fluzone vaccine

contains thimerosal, a mercury derivative, added as a preservative. Each 0.5 mL

dose contains 25 ìg mercury. " So in order to receive 45 micrograms of actual

vaccine, a multi-dose shot may contain up to 100 micrograms of formeldahyde

(which is dangerous to breathe in a FEMA trailer, much less injected directly

into the body), 25 micrograms of mercury, and a small amount of polyethylene

glycol p-isooctylphenyl ether which, according to

http://www.vran.org/vaccines/flu/flu-ingredients.htmcarries this warning on all

4 versions of the product: " FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR HUMAN OR DRUG USE. " No

wonder only 40% of health care workers get the flu shot and a huge media

campaign is needed to encourage vaccinations. Vance
