As I understand it and in layman's terms...

Chelation is a treatment that releases metals that were previously stored in

body fat. The issue here is whether that is such a good idea. Dr. Goldberg

believes in the body's natural defenses against viruses and toxins. I have

heard him say on more than one occasion that our bodies are very " smart. " If

our bodies store metals and other toxins into fat instead of processing them

properly, there may be a really good reason for that. If the body wasn't

healthy enough to process those chemicals, storing them would be its defense so

that they aren't moving around in the system doing damage. Releasing those

stored metals/toxins on your terms in your time (chelation) and not waiting for

the body to process them properly on it's own terms when it is ready may not be

wise. When the body is healthy and the immune system has been strengthened, it

will process metals and toxins as a healthy body should. At worst, chelation

might do harm. At best, it is just dealing with a symptom of a poor immune

system. Dr. Goldberg would rather treat the source of the body's issues than

use a band-aid, a potentially harmful one at that.

I believe that this accurately describes his concerns and I hope that it helps.
