Guest guest
I would skip the microwave. High temperatures kill enzymes, and microwaving causes higher temperatures than stovetop cooking. Try pouring the boiling water over and allowing the powder to soak. TerriLynne doihavtasay <doihavtasay@...> wrote: I used plain rice when my dd was little. You can use brown if you like too. Just take the dry rice and toss it in your blender or food proccesor and processtil it's a powder. :-) You can the same the dry oatmeal so it's smoother. I didn't try other grains, but don't see why it wouldn't work for those as well.If you have a coffee bean grinder, that would work too.Once you have the powder made, put that and water ( have to experiment with the amount) in a small glass dish and microwave. Or boil the water and justpour it directly on the powder. Both have to be allowed to set covered to cook a bit. Doesn't take long and you need LOTS more water than you would think.Store the powder in the freezer. ;-)or..... cook up all the cereal at once and freeze it in ice cube trays and reheat.
