Guest guest
Do you see following Dr G's protocol as being separate from his strong rejection of ABA therapy? I think it healthy for parents to question what they may not understand or agree with even when it generates a level of discomfort because as has been said so many times .... what works for one child may not work for another, such is the complexity of this modern epidemic. Parents have an infinite investment in their child's development and future prospects which even the best physician could not claim to match and even Dr G's protocol fails or has limited success for some! In a message dated 26/03/2009 18:49:11 GMT Standard Time, sjillboyer@... writes: My children attend a school that does 1:1 ABA therapy and I know of several children there with autism that have never been vaccinated. This is a small sample but autism can occur with children that have never been vaccinated. I do believe in a different vaccination schedule for a children and Hep B should NOT be given at birth, perhaps during their adolescent years but we should really stick to the treatment plan. Guest guest
What struck me as significant in this letter was the doctor's description of children with autism. " If I have a child with autism come in, there's no communication. It's frightening. You can't touch them. It's not something that anyone would miss. " I have three children - one with mild/moderate autism, one with Asperger's and one with ADHD--and his description of a child with autism doesn't fit any of them. Does that mean my older two boys don't have it? If their definition of autism in that particular medical practice is so narrow, couldn't they be missing the signs? Also, I remember reading a study a few years ago about autism rates in the Amish community, and they don't vaccinate. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing! When it comes to autism, I always want to know if the child has been vaccinated or not as a way of trying to figure out this complicated puzzle. While I don't think we can rule out vaccines, whether as a means of impairing the immune system in some kids or as a means of possible viral contamination, it seems like kids that are not vaccinated can suffer the same fate through natural infections. My friend's son got a really bad flu at 18 months and it really took him out. He did not walk after that and she said he 'just wasn't the same' afterward. She knows nothing of the autism world but the whole thing was very interesting to me. My youngest son has not been vaccinated but was showing signs of sensory issues and gross motor delay. Thankfully, he is receiving early intervention services. It poses the question; did I pass along some virus to my unborn son's during pregnancy? Or did they come in contact with something on their own. Although I do believe it can be a trigger in those with dysfunctional immune systems. My daughter had her vaccines until she was 6 months old, and we stopped long before I suspected autism. She regressed at 13 months old by losing her words and she stopped responding to her name and socializing. I am not sure what happened but I know it wasn't a vaccine that did it. Guest guest
Dr G said that no child that he began caring for during pregnancy has developed autism either, and he vaccinates them. He does it on a different schedule and would suspend jabs if there is a health issue going on (like ear infections, allergies, rashes, recent antibiotics, etc). ________________________________ From: a DeVelbiss <gabrieladevelbiss@...> Stem Cell for autism 2 <StemCell_for_Autism2 >; AUTISM-togetherinautismorg ; valleysnafu ; alternative-autismhealing ; tracyautismparentsgroup ; gfcfrecipes ; mb12 valtrex ; ; chelatingkids2 ; GAPShelp ; india_developmentaldisabilities ; VitaminK ; ; glyco_powered Sent: Thursday, March 26, 2009 1:14:16 PM Subject: NO AUTISM In Never-Vaccinated Children http://www.rense. com/general85/ cant.htm NO AUTISM In Never-Vaccinated Children From Alan Cantwell MD From Philip Rudnick PhD 3-8-9 Dear Drs. Guest guest
Just to chime in on this issue. Aside from the wisdom of spacing vaccines out, its not the vaccines that we should be concerned about, it's the mercury or aluminum preservative that is still in many of the shots. The flu shots still contain the mercury and these are currently recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics for infants and pregnant women. It's also in the Rho D shots given to mothers for Rh factor incompatibility. So if the full recommendations are followed, there is still mercury being directly injected. A good many individuals cant take that hit. ray ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of JOSKAT95@... Guest guest
Looking back, I believe my son's 'tipping point' was after a flu vaccination he received at 18 months, then came down with rotovirus a few days later. From that point forward, he was sick all the time. HOWEVER, the flu shot he received was a SINGLE DOSE and I read the package insert myself and saw no signs of thimerosol. (He had received the MMR 6 months prior to that). His sister age 4 typically developing had ? 1- 2 shots had an immune panel her titers are extremely high Dr. G. says she should not be vaccinated Pediatritions here Ohio will not agree with this treatment. They consulted with a immune specialist they said all children will have high titers by the time they are 4 yrs. They are insisting she be vaccinated. I vote yes. Of course, that's just one man's opinion but one who's spent the last three years listening to parents and enlightened pediatricians and combing through adverse events reports and just generally trying to think for himself. > > OLMSTED, THE AMISH AND AUTISM By Mark Blaxill > > [Oct 2007] Olmsted on Autism: I'm not vaclempt! > > [April 2006] The Age of Autism: Pox -- Part 1 By Dan Olmsted > vaccines/olm44. html > > The Age of Autism: The story so far By DAN OLMSTED > > The Age of Autism: 'A pretty big secret' By Dan Olmsted > The Age of Autism: The Amish anomaly By Dan Olmsted > > [April 2006] The Age of Autism: Christian's mom speaks By Dan Olmsted > > The Age of Autism: Hot potato on the Hill By DAN OLMSTED copy Expect to hear all kinds of excuses, including that one, from the powers that be as to why such a conclusive study couldn't, shouldn't and really mustn't be done. Guest guest
HI Gabby, Do you have direct experience with stem cells? My friend's son has CP and was one of the first to be implanted with them (his own) last Thanksgiving, through a Duke U. study. So far he still has CP. They said 6-8 months for noticeable changes. My son has CP as well as the " A " word, so I would LOVE it if stem cells could help him. It is like the analogy of the child being hit by a bus... you can heal certain wounds but the child may never be the same again (because of the extent of the damage left behind!!!)...
