Have you thought about using the Salt/C protocol on the chickens? It is supposed to work on animals, too. Just figure out how much salt to give them; maybe a pinch or two a day? As for Vitamin C, check and see how much the animal makes itself. You may need to supplement it.

Guest guest
Hi all,jim and i were talking about the chicken, eggs and lyme thing a while back. actually, it started out as kind of a joke, then evolved into some serious consideration. i think i have to agree with those who believe that by cooking this food any spiros would be killed. the only exposure to lyme/ticks would be what the chicken would carry on it's body, but then you have all animals that run that risk. if we carried it to the limit here, we shouldn't leave our house or eat anything. chickens like to dust themselves to kill lice, and who knows, maybe ticks also. just keep them in a clean, open environment, clean, fresh water and healthy food, and i would think they would be fine. the healthier their environment, the healthier they will be and the healthier the food they produce will be. so just enjoy these (i think) delightful creatures that provide us with good food. barbara Hello,I am also dealing with my " Co.Virus & Lyme " ---- now, I begin to wonder about CHICKENS that we eat.My daughter's rather " non-interested " but instead, we are getting into eating more TURKEY, Thus how long, shall our entire world go on like it is? Guest guest
After acquiring a taste for game in the West, I heard that even in that, like elk, and bison, cooking won't kill the 'chetes. Than, when I think of eggs over easy... It gives me pause. L Theresa, We have 23 chickens which roam free in the yard and in the field behind us. I have thought of this as well, but figured since the eggs and chicken is cooked, the spiros are destroyed. I believe what we need to find out is at what temperature are spiros destroyed. > > Hello everyone, > We are venturing into raising chickens and I am a bit concerned about the issue of ticks and Lyme Disease. If the chickens eat "all the ticks", that's great. But should we be concerned about the spirochetes then being in the eggs and/or meat? Not something I want to be worried about when I'm eating those healthy eggs. Thank you, Theresa >

Guest guest
lena, never though of the eggs over easy. good thing i cook mine through. but my husband likes them poached and that is runny yokes. who would have guessed those poor little baby mice, that we gave to the chickens because we didn't know what to do with them, would be the subject of this lengthy study on lyme in out food. guess they did not die in vain. does give one pause for thought though about what we eat.barbara After acquiring a taste for game in the West, I heard that even in that, like elk, and bison, cooking won't kill the 'chetes.
