Guest guest
HBOT is another treatment Dr. G opposes. Wondering why??? Kristy From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Neno/Natasa Sent: Wednesday, March 18, 2009 6:32 AM Subject: HBOT has antiviral effect J Assoc Nurses AIDS Care. 1996 Jan-Feb;7(1):43-5. HIV antiviral effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Reillo MR, Altieri RJ. Lifeforce Hyperbaric Medical Clinic, Baltimore, MD, USA. Researchers have speculated that hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy has an antiviral effect in HIV infection. To determine HBO's antiviral effect, the authors performed ex vivo and in vivo quantitative assays on HIV-infected plasma and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) at baseline and after treatment. The authors also HBO-treated uninfected PBMCs and then exposed them to HIV at ambient pressure. HIV viral load was decreased in the infected cells, and few viruses entered uninfected PBMCs exposed to HBO. The results of this study support the theory that HBO has an antiviral effect. PMID: 8825180 A hypothesis out there on high pressure bursting viral envelope and disintegrating the virus.... (could be why it works in autism, herpesviruses, retroviruses etc are all enveloped ones...). Remember stuff I posted yesterday about chelation of metals bursting/desintegrating the virus?? Getting very interesting, all this...

Guest guest
If the underlying pathology that results in autism has self limited, and I am convinced that it does in a subgroup, and the child has no more inflammation in their brain, then theoretically this could help. That would explain the anecdotes that are on the web and in books. Of course the rest of the children who still have the chronic condition will at best, not be helped, and the worst case is that they will be further damaged. Guest guest
We did 40 sessions of HBOT 2 months before my son became Dr. Gs patient. We did a brain SPECT scan after the 40 sessions and he had profound hypoperfusion in the temporal and frontal lobes. He also showed reduced blood flow in basically every area of his brain. The doctor who did the scan (Dr. Uszler) said that my son had brain inflammation and he was the one who referred us to Dr. G. I would have thought that after the HBOT that he was going to show improvements, but he didn't improve. My son only could put 2 words together just after he did the HBOT (3 1/2 years old at the time), completely spaced out, lots of stimming behaviors, yeast, bacteria, repetitive behaviors, etc... he was diagnosed with moderate autism back then when he as 2 1/2 years old. Now after 8 months of being in the protocol, taking high dose probiotics and doing high dose Ibuprofen therapy we repeated the brain SPECT scan. This time his brain's blood flow was normal, he only had residual (very little) hypoperfusion remaining and the doctor said that the brain inflammation was reduced by 75% compared to the first brain SPECT scan. The doctor was impressed with my little guy. Now my son's autism diagnosed was removed by the same developmental pediatrician that diagnosed him. He no longer qualifies for special education and he is no longer labeled as a child with speech impairments. He still needs to improve, but he is recovering so fast. Dr. G even told me that he is 90% recovered. I wrote all this because I want to say that I believe that HBOT is not benefitial if the root cause of the inflammation which causes the reduction of blood is not corrected first. My son's brain blood flow got better by treating his immune system and not by the HBOT. Doing the HBOT is also very stressful and time consuming specially when we have full time jobs. Guest guest
It all depends on the depth and some children show improvements many weeks after the HBOT. IF a child has yeast and other issues the depth needs to be changed. I suggest that you do the protocol and HBOT together. We have had great success in 100's of cases including my three daughters. I disagree with some of the depths and times that some centers are treating children. Every case is different. Anti fungal and some a/b for gut infections plus diet change and HBOT seems to be very positive from what I have seen. My daughters had 10 spect scans each. Each one showed a huge improvement in blood flow, sz stopped and my non verbal daughter is now very verbal and 21 years old. we had HBOT in 1991. Guest guest
Sometimes HBOT can cause hyperfusion, thats Dr. G's concern. And I have read that it can cause viral reactivation. I don't think Dr. G will see a patient if they do HBOT simultaneously... May the Lord bless you and keep you! Guest guest
I am not sure what you don't get, but I will try to answer what I think you don't understand. If you do a NeuroSPECT on some kids with dx'd with autism, you will see some overactive areas in the brain. They can cause aggression and other issues. HBOT would exacerbate this. Dr. G has mentioned that he has had many kids that are so difficult to treat because they have had HBOT and/or chelation. HTH,
