Guest guest
Hi , This is the first that I have heard of this genetic test. My children's neurologist ran some genetic tests for my children which included genes that are known to be susceptible to seizures. All of the tests came back negative. I was very fortunate in that their insurance actually covered the tests so I didn't have to pay anything. I also have them enrolled in two genetic studies - AGRE (which is through Autism Speaks) and Nationwide Children's Hospital. I didn't have to pay anything to have their blood tested but I still haven't found out anything either. I never think it is a waste to get as much information as possible (if you can afford it). I am hoping that some day, we will find out what babies have a genetic predisposition to and make sure they are not giving the current series of vaccination shots that begin on day one of their life. I can't believe that many scientists say that vaccinations have nothing to do with autism and that it is just difficult to tell that they have autism until they are 1-2.5 years of age. Babies are exposed to Hep B at birth and they get their first series of shots at 6 weeks. As you can see in the current court cases, they focus on one issue only - thimersol or MMR - but they are not looking at the whole picture - chidlren being exposed to series of vaccinations, viruses and environmental toxins. AGRE has switched their focus from DNA to RNA. Hi, We just saw the neurologist last week and he explained that they have a new genetic test for autism called SHANK3 and CNTNAP2. The test just became available. Does anyone have information on this? The neurologist was very unclear if this test would give us any answers and he was unsure if we should waste our money on this test. I would like more information before investing in this test. thanks, __._
