Guest guest
I asked Dr G about this years ago and he said it was a different disorder, one they actually have the tools to identify. But it is another example of how our imme systems affect our brains. ________________________________ From: <jrodrig6605@...> Sent: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 2:28:48 PM Subject: Is autism really acute disseminated encephalomyelitis? This sounds exactly of what our children have and we are working so hard to treat. http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Acute_disseminat ed_encephalomyel itis Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is an immune mediated disease of the brain.[1][2] [3] It usually occurs following a viral infection but may appear following vaccination, bacterial or parasitic infection, or even appear spontaneously. Guest guest
What we call autism represents a process that effects the whole body not just the brain. It is self limiting in many children, episodic in some, and almost constant in the smallest group. I think the best theory for what is going on can be found in Pall's book Explaining Unexplained Illnesses which is now in paperback. Dr. Pall is one of the world's leading authorities on multiple chemical sensitivities, developed an interest in CFS and other " unexplained illnesses " . He will be coming out with a paper explaining how his NO/ONOO theory can be applied to autism. E. on RN,MSN **************Get a jump start on your taxes. Guest guest
I talked to Dr. G 2 weeks ago and he told me that really big news were going to come out pretty soon, but didn't tell me any details. I wonder if this has to do anything about it. ADEM to me is the same thing as . They are both caused by immune dysfunctions. = Neuro Immune Dysfunction Syndromes ADEM = Immune Mediated disease of the brain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acute_disseminated_encephalomyelitis Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is an immune mediated disease of the brain.[1][2][3] It usually occurs following a viral infection but may appear following vaccination, bacterial or parasitic infection, or even appear spontaneously.
