Guest guest
Thanks , My doctor here in Michigan learned a great deal from Dr. when he first got into holistic medicine. And I see Dr. 's name quite often in the TOWNSEND LETTER, when I can find time to look through it (which is not often enough). You were very fortunate to be in his practice. I'm not sure how I stumbled into Dr. Brownstein's practice, but now no one else can get in. So I am also very fortunate. Khaya > > > > > > > > Dr. Jonathon has an excellent reputation! Guest guest
I just read this article you sent. I actually have very high acid in my stomach. I asked my GI to test it while he was down there in 2008 (don't know if that means what is there is fine but I don't necessarily produce the appropriate volume of acid). So low acidity isn't necessarily my problem. I now have "atypical GERD" I feel the pain ONLY in my shoulders, arms and back and when really bad around my waist. I rarely feel heartburn. Yes, I did have to go the the hospital because the pain was very much like a heart attack. I figure I will never know if I am having a heart attack because I have symptoms all the time. No antacid PPI or supplement has helped at all. I just live with it. I can eat because the pain is so far away from my stomach that I just tell myself its Lyme pain and ignore it. What does one do if they DO have too much acid and a floppy LES? No one has answered that question. I would love to take HCL but my doc said that would be bad because I would just add to the acid. I have taken enzymes but they don't do anything noticable. So I love the low acid theory and it makes sense but not for everyone. Maybe once the lyme is controlled the acid will go to normal and I will be fine. I actually read somewhere that the problem with the sphincter is inappropriate pressure in the digestive system caused by the usual suspects, candida, gallbladder problems, liver problems, parasites etc.. Also, chronic constipation can change the pressure throughout the system (ME). I actually feel the problem is motility and autonomic muscle control (LES). Since the atypical symptoms started I have been horribly consitipated. That being said I feel the lack of muscle control is neurological ( ie from the lyme). Also the pain is from the Vagus nerve and again it's sensitively may again be due to my CNS being destroyed. Just my own thoughts. PS. I got my coil last tuesday and have been afraid to use it. I promised my self to do it Saturday. How chicken am I???
Guest guest
Hi , I don't see anything wrong with being cautious! You've been learning as much as you can, and hopefully you're better prepared. Khaya > > I just read this article you sent. I actually have very high acid in my stomach. Guest guest
Hi and , Stomach pH levels can also be taken during an endoscopy exam and also an endoscopy ultrasound exam... Take care, Jim > > Hi , > > I had another friend with Lyme that was adamant that all of her acid reflux was due to an excess of stomach acid. She even got kind of angry with me when I suggested that perhaps she had the opposite problem. I went to the doctor that wrote the article that was posted and had the Heidelburg Capsule test to determine stomach acid levels and it was non existent. I had horrible acid reflux and chronic gut pain under my left rib. I had terrible digestion and I told my friend that she really should find a doctor that can test her since most allopthic physicians due not buy into the low stomach acid theory. She was popping Prilosec right and left and her symptoms just kept getting worse. I gave up talking to her about it and she finally emailed me a year later and told me that she was sorry for not listening and that I was right. She had found a practioner at phcapsule.com and was tested and they determined that she did not make stomach acid. > She is now doing so much better. It is at least worth finding someone to test your stomach acid levels, because it takes all of the speculation out of what is going on with your stomach. > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Susie, Yes, an endoscopy ultrasound is similar to an endoscopy exam, just a different kind of instrument,\ so non-invasive... I have no idea what it looks like as I was given an anesthetic that causes instant amnesia... It worked!! But it just gets passed down beyond the throat and into the stomach.. I had a minor sore throat when it was over.. Take care, Jim > > > > > > Hi , > > > > > > I had another friend with Lyme that was adamant that all of her acid reflux was due to an excess of stomach acid. Guest guest
Hi Jim Noninvasive ? if they do not cut they do enter our body using natural opening . Having a tube inserted in the intestine or the oesohphagus I call this invasive . Guest guest
Jim, Thanks for the explanation, but I consider an instrument going down the throat & into the stomach invasive, so I'm glad I asked the question. When I saw the word ultrasound, I thought you were referring to another method where they didn't have to enter the body. I guess I won't be getting the Heidelberg test either. The NJ doctor that used to do it, doesn't anymore. I called the Pa. doctor to ask a few questions about the test & no one ever called me back & that was over a week ago. I'll have to find another method to test the stomach acid. Guest guest
Hi , The endoscopy will not determine if you make enough acid to digest meals. It will only measure the acid that exists in the stomach. The phcapsule test does a baking soda challenge to see how long it takes for your stomach to reacidify. Also allopathic medicine is notorious for having to wide a range of what is considered normal. Gastritis and acid reflux are caused from low stomach acid during the digestive process. To really know if you have low acid levels you need to take the Heidelburg Capsule test. I would bet that if you are experiencing gastritis and acid reflux you need HCL. I quit having chronic gastritis and acid reflux as soon as I started taking HCL. When I stopped taking it for awhile my Gastritis and acid reflux came back. Unfortunately Allopathic medicine does not believe in low stomach acid even though as we age, most things get less. We have less hair, less hormones, less muscle mass. If you haven't read Dr. s article, read it over in the files section. He has cured many cases of Gastritis and Acid reflux. > > Hi there Susie, > > I did have my acid checked during an endoscopy in 2008. The pH was 1.2 (very acidic). They also did some sort of test to measure the volume I make and it was high normal. Basically, I have a normal amount at a normal volume. This too is not uncommon if the problem is the LES being floppy, as I call it. I don't know what the result would be today. I had esophogeal erosion and some gastritis. I was no where near the level of sick I am now in 2012. I can't take drugs due to side effects so I literally suffer with the discomfort/pain. There are days where I feel almost normal. > > Speaking of reflux I FINALLY used my coil machine for a mere 10 secs on 832 (bart). I was already having an increase in my reflux symptoms prior to the coil but after I used it the gerd got worse. Now I really can't say it was the coil for sure. I did only do the 10sec (because I am a chicken). I had no other increase in any symptoms at all. So again I really have no clue. I am thinking about going to 20 secs and placing the coil on my back instead of directly hitting the stomach region. Any thoughts, anyone? > >
Guest guest
Hi , One other thing, it is best to coil on an empty stomach. > > > > Hi there Susie, > > > > I did have my acid checked during an endoscopy in 2008. Guest guest
, When I said invasive, I was referring to an endoscopy ultrasound, not the Heidelburg capsule. At any rate, I'll have to skip the capsule test because there are no doctors in my state & to go out of state for a test is too stressful for me to do. I'll try that baking soda challenge this week & see what happens. Thanks.
